Do you own a hammer-less J?

First off, I decided to post in the lounge and not the revolver section because I thought it would get the least biased responses here.

I was in a gun shop today and I observed the clerk talking to a young guy, maybe mid 30s, about concealed carry options. The clerk was showing the guy a 642 and made the comment that the 642 was probably the most carried gun around, or at least hammer less S&W J frames.

I thought that was an interesting comment. So here's the question:

Do you own a "hammer less" J frame revolver? (internal hammer just so nobody's confused)

My guess is a lot of us here do. Thoughts in the hammer less J being the most carried gun?

I carried a model 60 with the hammer bobbed for many years. It was stolen and I bought a nice old model 40 to replace it. For some reason I never had a problem carying the 60 in my pocket but the slick model 40 often turns around upside down in my pocket. Maybe its because I gained weight and now wear looser fitting pants or something.

Technically all J-frames have hammer mechanisms. Some are fully exposed, some are shrouded, others are completely enclosed.

Hence the quotations around "hammer-less".

The Internal Hammers (as S&W calls em) are often referred to as hammer less, so I went with the colloquialism.

I know a few guys who carry "hammer-less" J frames. I carry a 442 occasionally.

My neighbor routinely carries a model 60 He bobbed his hammer. He is the only one I know who carries a "hammered" J and has for 40 plus years.

My 442 is an enclosed hammer J frame and it's my most carried gun.

Nope. My only J-frame is a Model 49 Bodyguard (shrouded hammer).

The one I really regret not buying some years back was the Model 432 Centennial Air-Weight in .32 H&R Magnum.

My dad also owns a 642, and my brother owns a 442.

It's not my most carried gun, but it fills an important role in my book.

I carry a 342PD everyday.
It kicks like a mule, but I never leave home without it (unless I'm going to a Bar-B-Q)

Yep, picked up my 42 in 1974; later added a 640, a 442 and a 432. They get a workout.

Also (for other purposes) have a 36, 37 and a 34.
