Wasn't it somewhat normal to take your M1 into the shower for a through cleaning. Admittedly it was a long time ago, but if I recall correctly, some did.

Curious as to responses as there was a member of my family who did this when showering - saying this is when he felt most vulnerable.

Is there some magical sphere of protection that I'm not aware of, associated with the bathroom wherein one takes a shower, which nullifies the rationale for keeping a firearm somewhere nearby?

I will on occasion if I'm not at home and I'm traveling.
