I give it to my wife and she stands guard while I shower. She gets a free peep-show as payment......

I actually spent 3 or 4 minutes carefully reading this thread. My only comment is that there are 3 or 4 minutes that I will never get back, during which I could have done something better. :)

That's the funniest picture I've seen here in a long time! Is that really you, Engine49guy?

Seriously . . . I know of a guy who keeps a waterproof plastic box suction-cupped to his shower wall. He places his carry piece inside before taking a shower.

Me . . . not in the shower, but it's usually in the bathroom with me. Am I paranoid? No. They really are out to get me. :D

There was an episode of chips where a guy in California had a LOT of guns and none were 'registered'.

The CHIPS took all but one away. His SHOWER gun which was registered.

To the OP, I have on occasion taken a sidearm into the bathroom. There had been a rash of armed robberies, during which the house next to mine was invaded by 3 guys. For a few months afterwards I had a weapon on or very near me about 99% of the time..

Generally no. The only exception is when I'm staying in a hotel room, but that's primarily to not leave it out of my control, not because I worry about bathroom invaders.

And of course I would if I ever stayed in Florida just in case a Burmese python comes up out of the toilet ;) .

Don't forget the alligators too!

Nope, but that's what a wife and a 870, plus a few m&p are for. Bad Gus have to get past her first :)

Does anyone make a waterproof shoulder holster for shower use? My pocket, IWB, and OWB holsters just don't work for me in there.

There's really no reason to even carry a firearm. Unless you're paranoid. I mean, gosh, I don't go to bad neighborhoods.

Home invasions are an invention of conspiracy theorists anyway. The NRA is convincing everyone that they could actually be put upon. Now the crazies are saying that someone would sneak into your house while you were vulnerable. Oh of course it's happened, but so what, why should I worry. It isn't going to happen to me.

That's like having a smoke alarm in a perfectly good house.

These stories the news keep putting out, pfft, get real. Lynn Russel was asking for it, staying in that motel.

Get this ha ha, even the FBI is in on the conspiracy theory.

Especially if you live in one of the border states, and we all know that's just a bunch of right wing nut cases that are making this stuff up.
So if anyone says something goofy like, "yeah, I keep a firearm reasonably within reach when I'm home alone." I'm just gonna mock them, cause they're just paranoid conspiracy theorists. Dude.

Why bother with a gun unless you're going to need it?
I only carry when I'm pretty sure I'll be getting into a gun fight.
That's right Phil. Ya know, now that I'm convinced that I'm the absolute master of my universe, and the actions of others has no chance of disrupting my life, I can pick when to be prepared. Nobody's gonna call me a "prepper" weirdo.
(I just cancelled all my insurance policies, too.):D

Denial from Urban Dictionary:
Even with abject proof of an events occurrence, someone in denial is highly unlikely to fully accept the particular reality that their mind has decided they cannot cope with. They are more likely in that instance to use projection or minimisation or to continue or revert back to being in full blown denial.

Why not? The bad guys who are willing to bust into your home aren't going to say, "****! She's taking a shower. Give her a couple minutes to get decent." And, how aware are you of what's going on in your house (or hotel room) when you're in the shower? If the BG breaks in at that time ... well ... that's his dream come true.
