I'm a bit confused.

I believe my carry gun should either be with me or safely secured.

Do some of you while carrying really go back to the "secured" location, unlock it, put your carry gun inside, lock it back up, and then head off to take a shower, only to reverse the process once done showering?

Are some of you comfortable with just leaving your carry gun just tucked away or laying out somewhere outside the bathroom beyond your immediate control while you shower?

Deadly or dangerous criminal activity, though still relatively rare, can happen anywhere, anytime, to anyone. Why would you assume it can't or won't happen to you or someone else in your household while you're showering?

I'd rather not go through the extra steps of securing my carry gun, nor am I comfortable leaving it unsecured somewhere else, so I place it under my change of clothing or a towel where I still have immediate control over it while I shower.

I carry pretty much all of the time, and just like the wallet, glasses, and keys I carry pretty much all the time, I barely notice my holstered carry gun while going about my daily activities.

I voted no. Already have a Remington 870 Marine Magnum in the shower, why would I bring another weapon. That's just silly!

Not sure why I am even responding to this question, however I am, NO!!!

NO, but he always comes along.

I don't carry a weapon while in the shower, but I do keep a stainless steel S&W revolver hidden in each of my bathrooms. I live out in the mountains and sometimes people wander out of the woods while hiking or just prowling. I don't want someone walking into my house while I am in the bathroom, especially if they are intent on making problems. Beats trying to run to the bedroom or computer room to find a weapon if someone kicks in the front or back door while I am indisposed!

No. I'll rely on chemical and biological warfare if I'm surprised in there. (My wife wants me to add " and nuclear," but that would just be silly overstatement.) ;)

Maybe a better question is "what do you do with you handgun when you take a shower?"

You guys that yell "Paranoia!" Please go first. Do you leave it on your chest of drawers? Hide it in your sock drawer? Or do you really even carry a concealed handgun?

I needed a 4th choice, actually

You are MOST vulnerable in your bathroom. No matter what you are doing in there, unless you're simply watering the greenery you keep there to beautify the room or you're scrubbing the tiles yourself, you are literally nekkid and defenseless. Even with a firearm available you're at your least protected moments so, yes, I advocate having a firearm in the bathroom.

The reason I said I needed a 4th choice, and I did vote yes, is that I do NOT take my weapon into the bathroom because I never take my weapon out of the bathroom. I keep a loaded 2.5" Ruger Security Six hidden in a bathroom drawer 100% of the time - as in 24/7/365. That way I don't have to think about it. It's easy to reach and protected from moisture/humidity but never removed from its hiding pace unless I choose to shoot it at the range or carry it afield. It's been there a VERY long time........

It's the benefit of not having little kids running around......

I don't worry about my carry gun when I am in the bathroom. I have locked doors, alarms, dogs, etc. If something happens I'll have my bathroom gun available faster than anyone can get to my EDC gun or any other gun in the house. There are at least 5 more available, maybe 7 if you count the long arms; I'd have to think about it.....they're all hidden but accessible.

Paranoid?

Maybe.......................................................or maybe I have nothing to be paranoid about under the circumstances......

I personally take mine outside and lock it in my car. Like the BLM agent whose gun was used in the San Fran murder that's all over the news. Anything but take it into the bathroom.

No I don't take my gun into the bathroom, and I don't keep one in there. I live in a safe neighborhood and I don't worry about it. I have several guns around the house, if they catch me naked and vulnerable then so be it, I guess when its my time its just my time, at least I will leave this earth clean.

The only way I will answer that question for you is if you enter my bathroom while I'm showering. Either way, I don't recommend it.
