That pistol is as available to anyone behind him as it is to him.
If he wore it on the opposite side, wouldn't it work as a left-handed cross-draw?
Worn for show, not use.
And that is exactly what it is. It's a holster for left-handed individuals, he is wearing it on the wrong side.

Don't think that is a carry method, it seems to be a bill board saying look at me "I'm carrying a gun".

It looks to me like a left handed M7 Shoulder Holster that he has on backwards.
Hmmmm, maybe that holster is one of those fancy swivel style. Otherwise, I guess one would do it slow and carefully.

That was my thought, a chest rig that’s rigged wrong…
It looks like a U.S. military shoulder holster worn backwards. The real shooter is behind him. He is just a mobile bullet stop.
Dunno, I’m confused myself.
I’d say it’s possible that this gentleman is sporting a rig HE doesn’t know how to wear properly. It could even be a revolver rig setup with an automatic in it. It’d be nice to be able to see his back.
That said, I have seen an old military chest holster (with U.S. stamped on it), worn mid-chest that looked similar. You can see what I’m talking about in that U-571 movie worn by Harvey Keitel.
Think the snap release would be on the wrong side…being a righty myself, and having the same type under arm cross draw setup for my Model 27, the snaps are worn close to the chest so they are easily released with the thumb while drawing.
In this setup, the snap release would be on the outside (not able to be released by the thumb), not the inside.
