Does anybody else actually sort of prefer larger handguns?

I don't know about 'LARGE'....

...but if all compromises were thrown out I think a Model 10 with a square grip would be ideal for everything. I think my wife feels the same way.

Joe: I'd bet you normally carry a spare roll just in... I mean, magazine!

Cheers!

P.S. If I could ever hit 175 again I woudn't need to EVER carry OWB anymore...? I might even have to break out the suspenders!

IMHO, "full-size" or "large" handguns are really "people sized" guns, and are made to fit... People!

Compact handguns are just "people sized" guns with the barrel and grip frame cut down so that they can be more easily concealed.

In other words, concealment is the priority, not shootability.

A "full-size" handgun is designed to fit your hand.

A "compact" handgun is designed to fit your pocket.

With a "full size" handgun, you find one that fits you best.

With a "compact", you compromise.

I am a retired LEO. I have been carrying for 40+ years. I always carry full size usually the same handgun I carry on duty. Colt 1911s, Browning High Power and Beretta 92FS. Always used a thumb snap OWB holster.

Absolutely. Larger guns are easier to shoot and fit my hands much better. I don't like this new wave of tic-tac sized guns at all.
