Does anyone else have this problem?

I've had the same Dr. Since about 1980. He is 5 months older than me and I do Not want to find a new Dr. I did ask him a year or two ago how much longer he was going to work. His answer. "Till I drop dead in the halls over there". I hope he outlives me.

Long time dentist since around the mid 1980's retired and sold his business to some damn corporation. It went downhill fast and I lost a tooth to the incompetence of the new dentist and I was forced to find another dentist that I do not like. Small town and I will resist going out of town to maybe a 120 mile round trip just to get my teeth cleaned. Health care in this country is going downhill. Even 60 Minutes has done pieces on this subject, but health care opportunities continue to go down while costs continue to go up. I'm fortunate to have good health insurance that I carried to retirement.

my doctor is slowing down working every other month great guy. But I have had to take myself the walk in urgent care a few times they have fixed me up but its someone different every time. Ill figure it out down the road

So far the only Doctor that has retired on us is my Dentist that I have been using for 50 years! He was so good I use to travel 40 miles each way to see him but now in the process of trying to find someone locally that is even close to how good he was! He will be missed!

I hope that you had better luck than I did.

I had a good doc, she decided to be a stay at home mom. My replacement doc is okay, but not exceptional. I was preparing to go to bible study one Friday night when I found out that my dentist had retired himself after a fight with his wife and used a gun to expedite his retirement. I went to school with his wife, I thought he was nuts for going with her to begin with. My eye doc is getting up there as is the doc that fixed my foot.
Best wishes on finding the good ones.

When George Burns was in his late 90s he was asked what his doc thought about his cigar smoking. George responds,"I don't know, he's dead."

Mine was the true country doc for 30+ years. When oblamawami care came along he packed it in. Another doc took over and we put up with him for 6 months. Now have a female who is good but the relationship---one gal behind desk, office in a house, no computers- not there. Now it's in&out, $300.00 please

This started when I was in my 60s (72 next month) and I've had to find new docs. Fortunately I became friends w/our eye doctor before she retired and she was able to recommend other docs in our plan to help me.

A little thread drift:
Back in the "good old days" I played a lot of racquetball, to the point of screwing up my shoulder. A doctor operated on it and fixed it. Left an ugly scar though. He died of a heart attack about two weeks after the operation. After about two months I started to play a little racquetball again. When in the shower with about 6 other guys one looks at my shoulder and said "what happened to the other guy?". Without thinking I said "he's dead". It got very quiet in the locker room.

My dentist of 45 years went and retired on me. He was the only one I knew. It took me 3 more to find one I like. I do not look forward to that with my primary car doc.

Mals

The new one that I went to today was very nice and seemed to know his stuff. Took plenty of time with me. I was impressed.
