Hello, the more I collect & fool with S&W's the more parts I find I need.

I don't know much about these (have 1 & only seen 1 other in person).

Mine seems to have a modified extractor stem/knob.
It seems to be too long, although it works.
To me, it looks like someone made a longer one to achieve a longer stroke on extraction of .32 longs? This is the first HE, the one with no thumbpiece & the cyl. stop on the top-strap.
Opening is via this knob.

The part I want to replace is the part with the knob which telescopes inside of the remaining extractor stem.
I need a blue one or a non-nickel one.
Blue is missing on this 1901 gun, but it is not rusted or pitted.

John, You can try contacting the various parts suppliers listed on Joe Miller's S&WCA Yahoo forum site, or look for a junker 1st Model ,32 HE at gun shows. My experience has been that individual parts for such situations as yours, if located, are often expensive and don't make economic sense, vs. selling the gun and buying one that is correct. Ed.

Thanks Ed.
Advice noted.
The gun is a 6"....so I would like to 'fix it'.
Are you referring to the swca members-only site?
I am a member of that.

I was referring to Joe Miller's [email protected] site. Joe was the first member to start a site for SWCA members and later the SWCA started their own site. ( I won't get into the problems of that event!) You can register on Joe's site if you are a member of the S&WCA. Both sites are operative, at present. Ed.
