does anyone open car doors for the ladys?

Just wondered if anyone still opens a door for the little lady, now and then?

It seems that a step ladder, might help, also, in this case !!

Sure do; was taught that at an early age by my Mom...and Dad!

Sadly, some of my female friends are NOT accustomed to it...and act shocked when I reach for the door handle.

I do think it's gentlemanly to do so...same as holding doors in homes, buildings, etc.

I must admit, I seldom do it anymore, once in a while when I have to walk past the passenger side when getting in. Like mentioned above I think that the auto locks pretty much made that a lot less of a habit.

Yep, I open car doors and virtually all other types of doors for the wife and any other woman. Just common courtesy and it's how I was raised.

Car door no. But I do always drop her off at the door, and then go park the car and take the walk. Same on the exit, retrieve the car and pick her up, especially in poor weather.

I was taught to always open doors for the ladies, but now I get a mix of "thank yous" and indignant looks. I am obviously too old to have any motives other than courtesy. Why do some women resent this courtesy?

I do when it's not co-workers. Opening a door for a female co-worker can lead to a sexual harassment complaint being lodged with HR. And I'm not making it up, based on a fellow I worked with that did that.

Yep, always - for my wife, my daughters, any Lady. Even give up my seat when the situation warrants.

I do for my wife and for most other women. One day I was taking my law clerk and her husband to lunch. He walked to the back door and climbed in. I ooened the front passenger door for her and she got in. I walked around and got in to drive. Then she said to her husband "Now, did you see that???"
Poor guy got a lesson in manners he should have gotten years ago that lasted most of the way across town. I just drove and kept my mouth shut, but I learned to be more mindful of when I act mannerly in the future!
