Does anyone remember Jade east,english leather and brut cologne

When I was a kid in the 1970's I remember my Grandfather having all those after shaves in his cabinet. There was another one he had which I think was called "Royal Hawaiian" which had a piece of black lava for the cap.

During my high school years, all of those things had their moments of popularity. My girl friend favored Jade East, but she could never persuade me to wear any of it. Lucky for me she didn't need much persuading.

My sons use that Axe body wash.
They seem unfazed by the fact it smells like a cat whizzed on a hot TV set.

This carries extra weight comming from a man that works in wastewater treatment!

I had to share a picture of my current stock of two vials of Stetson cologne. I need to wash my hands now. I might see about finding some Clubman aftershave, it's the classic old barbershop scent and only sticks around for half a hour or so.

In the '60s, English Leather and Jade East were incredibly popular among high school guys. I think most would find such aromas nauseating today.

Hey now, , just because I'm a bit desensitized doesn't mean a rose won't smell as sweet there as anywhere.
Wasn't English Leather where the gal ended the ad by saying "... or they wear nothing at all"?

She would put some on her pillow at night so it would smell like me. She was a real romantic.

I've used all of those at one time or another. One I really liked was Jamaican Royal Lime. A real fresh scent. I do still use Brut at times and maybe it has been changed, but it seems a light springtime outdoor scent.

I used Canoe and English Leather, but only a little bit. I stopped many, many years ago (still in my mid-20s) when I realized I was allergic to many of the Womens' Perfumes.

I am still allergic and, though I try to be gracious about it, I hate it when some woman, young or old, wanders by me or sits near me, smelling of something that makes my eyes burn and my nose tingle and some of it makes it hard to breathe.

I try to just man up when it's an old lady since I realize she probably can't smell well and puts the stuff on till it smells nice to her.

Once in a while a man wanders by, smelling as if he'd bathed in the stuff-I'm less gracious when that happens.

My wife just hates it when I start with a fairly loud, "Oh good heavens, what's that awful smell?" while looking rapidly around me for the source.

As I've gotten older, I rarely do that stuff anymore. But I want to.
