I dont know if its me or if this sounds crazy to anyone else. I have a M&P9 FS with roughly 400 rounds through without an issue, but in reality I dont have much use for it and have thought maybe I should have gotten the M&P9C, so I could atleast use it for CCW. Recently I contacted a shop to see if they had any new ones in I could trade towards. Well, they have a used one and they want my gun and $150. I dont think is a good deal, but is it the price you pay for trading in? Any advice......?

This is a regional question.

For me, no. Bu in MA, perhaps yes.

Consider trading with a forum member via this or other sites. You won't have to pay sales tax (Insult to injury) and you'll probably meet a new friend.

I guess it would depend on what features your gun has over the one you're trying to trade for, what you paid for it, and the price of the one you're after. M&P for M&P in the same caliber, I would say $150 is a bit high.

Maybe in trade for new, but in a trade for used, someone is trying to get over on you

Well, thats what I was thinking. If it were brand new, I would have considered it. I have a model without safeties and was looking for the same, but I wouldnt mind the thumb safety.

For what its worth, I know the price of guns has gone up weekly over the past month or so. I bought a new M&P .40 compact and had to pay $50 more than I paid when I bought my new M&P .40 FS a month ago at the same local gun shop. The dealer told me they are being charged more thus the price increases. Two guns in a month and couldn't get him to budge on the price... supply and demand I guess!

I would keep your full size and use a good IWB holster for it. I carry my FS .40 M&P a lot with a Milt Sparks VM2. A quality holster will make all of the difference in the world.

Look at Kramer Leather as well, many of my holsters are now Kramers.

Sounds crazy to me ! Is there any reason why the other used gun would have that much higher value ?
