We have an agreement-she doesn't ask about the guns and I don't ask about expenditures for quilting stuff. You think guns accumulate!!??

One time a couple years ago when I bought a 15-22 she asked me what I needed that for. My response was, because I wanted it.

After putting up with her "horse addiction" for 20 or more years, what I have stuffed into the safe is small potatoes.

Happy New Years to all!

I'd agree. She has her stuff, I have mine.

For many years the answer was "no", and I avoided discussing my acquisitions, etc. Now that we are in our "golden years" (i.e.: frequent lab specimens) and we have to look at our investments and plan for the future, the answer is solidly "yes". My wife understands that what I have invested in quality firearms amounts to a significant portion of our financial security. She does not question me about any purchase, knowing that quality firearms hold their value and appreciate at least as well as any portfolio of stocks or bonds.

All my wife knows is that some are silver, some are black, and most have a little wheel that spins in the middle. My rifles all look the same to her, they have a thingy that swings down and back up to shoot it again. And she'd have not just a cow, but a small herd if she knew exactly what I've got. I keep her out of the loop when it comes to my "investments", because the one time I clued her in, all I heard was "have you made any money on that yet?" until I actually did just to keep her happy.

Fortunately, my wife and I were out on a date together when that big meteorite landed on our house and destroyed it and every last one of the guns I had. So she and I both know I don't have any.

BEFORE that, though, she knew that I had some silver and black ones that all looked pretty much the same to her, and I knew she had seen each of them at one time or another, but other than that.....;)

Another reason I enjoyed owning and shooting all Third Gens....;)

Heck, I don't even know how many guns I have. My wife doesn't either, but she keeps telling that I already have enough. Go figure.

Id eventually like to get to the point that I dont know how many guns I have but unfortunately I can count them on one hand not using all my fingers. :(:( However, that changes in 2014. :-))

Yep! And, with the exception of the Garand, she shoots them as well as I do or better. :o

I often kid her about the way she wastes most the target by only shooting out the center part where I paste the bullseye sticker.

Now, let's talk about cleaning them . . . Nope! But, it's all good. ;)

sure my wife knows how many guns I have and where they are.....no big deal....

She has never asked for an exact number as that fluctuates. She does help me inventory them. I number them logically.
1. a gun. Dads Win Mod 70, SN. inherited, Leupold scope, SN.
2. A scope.
3. a gun.
4. Spotting scope.
5. Gun, gone.
6. Gun.
7. Kahles Binocs.
8. Gun case.
9. Gun scope.
10. Custom knife.
11. Gun.

I used to keep them in chronological order;
1. Win Mod 70, pre 64, 270 WCF, SN, inherited from Dad. Leupold.
2. Win Mod 70, pre 64, FWT, 270 WIN, SN.Leupold.

Too easy to count........
