Don't ever sell your collection, have you ever?.....

Over the years I've sold a number of firearms, many I would like to have back. Yet the one I really regret selling was a "ring hammer" Browning P-35. To add insult to injury I got $150.00 for it, but on the other hand I did make $31.00 on the deal.

I once had a pretty extensive collection of post ww2 S&W wheelguns. 113 of them at it's peek. Then it dawned on me that they were tucked away in safes so deep that I rarely took them out to enjoy them. I had all that $ tied up and very little ownership satisfaction. Sold about two thirds of them off when my son went to college. To be honest, there are a few I'd like to get back but only a few. The nice thing about this hobby is that your not married to any of it. I'm still free to buy and sell at will and still do.

Back in '80 I sold most of my guns to pay for chemo. One gun I hated to sell was my fathers M48. Several years ago, I started hunting for a 48 and after four of them bought traded and a couple hung on to, I found my fathers gun. Right here on this forum.

Has there ever been a firearm you owned that you wished now you had not sold or traded? I can think of a few myself, and they were not particularly collectible at the time. OMG
I sold my 4" 29-2 to a friend in order to finance another purchase.

It took me ten years to get that gun back.

When I was in the Army, I traded a 4" Colt Official Police for something else. After all, it's not like Colt was going to stop making revolvers...

There are a few I'd like back, like a 29 I sold to pay bills and a 57 I traded to a buddy who sold it later. I'd like to get another S series 4" 28 to replace one I gave a friend....but honestly no real regrets.
