My son wants a double shoulder holster for a 4" model 29 and a full size Colt 1911. Anyone have a lead on where to get something like this? I searched the net and the only thing I can find like this is for two small autos.

thanks

Bianchi at least used to make a rig that you could wear two holsters. Most people used the off hand side for a magazine or speedloader carrier, but I've seen people use it for two pistols . . .

Edit: I guess they still do. Instead of buying a mag holder, you just buy a left (or right) handed holster . . .

Model X16 Agent™ Shoulder Holster System, Unlined - The Safariland Group

Edit: I know it says Safariland on the link, but when you open it, it's a Bianchi holster. I had/have the first generation of this system. Carried a Model 66 with speedloaders, and later bought a Sig 226 holster with mag carriers. Nice system . . .

Build it Yourself

You may buy a DeSantis shoulder harness, then individually purchase the holsters you need, specifying left or right hand. Adding them to the harness is easy provided you know the difference between a screwdriver and a hole in the ground.

With thousands of individual gun model available, you will not find an off-the-shelf shoulder rig assembled for the two guns needed.

I have used Bianchi/Safariland shoulder holsters for various revolvers/autos - medium & large frames - and would not hesitate to recommmend the X16.

Holy cow! I hope your son is built like an oak tree! :D That’s a lot of iron to lug around.

I can’t help with a vendor but I am pretty sure you could buy a couple of used shoulder holsters (RH & LH, of course) here or there and have a custom harness made up that uses both of the off-the-shelf holsters. You might look around for old Safariland 100s and 101s. (I hope my memory is right on the model numbers. :o) Those were nice holsters and mine were lined with their “orthopedic elk,” whatever that is.

I suspect eventually your son will lose interest in this idea, but in the meantime I hope he has fun with it. ;)

I WOULD CHECK WITH LEFTY LEWIS @ BELL CHARTER OAK CUSTOM HOLSTERS. HE'S VERY INNOVATIVE AND TALENTED. A CHALLENGE LIKE THIS MAY APPEAL TO HIM. I HAVE BEEN WELL SATISFIED WITH HIS PRODUCTS.....

HE IS ALSO ONE OF OUR FORUM MEMBERS......

You may want to try Andrew's Leather. I have used his holsters for years and they are excellent.

As pointed out, the Bianchi and Galco harnesses traditionally have the off side setup for magazines, drop pouches, cuff case, or plain belt tie-down

There would be no stopping you from putting a LH holster in that same location.

The entire rig should be able to be ordered off the shelf

Anyone remember the old article on concealment?

As mentioned before,Galco offers both r/l hand holsters for their Miami Classic and VSH systems.Go to their web site and look.Optics Planet will have the best prices.

Pretty sure you can find them advertised I comic books next to the x-ray glasses!

That's an idea that probably won't be to practical. You can always just buy a lh holster to attach to any rig.

I had a Galco Miami Vice Shoulder holster set for my S&W 645 and got a left hand holster to fit S&W 1076 and was in business with a comfortable double heavy gun rig. I did not wear it often but it was more comfortable with 2 pistols than with 1 and the magazine holder.
