If HE hit YOU, you shouldn't have to pay any deductable.

(Purely my understanding, and I am NOT a lawyer or insurance man.)

put wifes car in body shop yesterday, was rear ended, luckily the 18 year olds parents had insurance, still a hastle, and a pain in the a**

When you say $500 deductible. I assume the other guy did not have insurance. Know that's a surprise living in Fl.

If he was cited and is insured go after his insurance. You don't need the claim on your policy and should not pay the deduct.

I am in Miami/ Fort Lauderdale and go through this weekly

Hope you the best

I hope you have your neck brace and cane

Seriously though, don't let those insurance company p!ssants nickle & dime you on the property damage-they are famous for that cause they figure you won't hire a lawyer for a couple of hundred dollar dispute. Don't know about Florida but Louisiana does have laws against arbitrary & capricious failure to properly adjust & pay damages.
