Drop your weapon...

It is not very often that anyone uses that four letter word to describe me. :D

Trust me, if I did not work very hard to filter myself here, the only real questions would be a) would it take double digit minutes to ban me, and b) which mod would be wielding the ban hammer. I am not real good with people and not shy about shooting from the lip, more than once without adequately considering the consequences of my commentary.

Oh, and cmort666: I am Scottish. The vast majority of my ancestors are from the part of Scotland that the Romans and the English were afraid to enter. :D

I am entertained by the cross section of the populace who carry a gun for self-defense, shoot paper in a range three or four times a year, and envision scenarios in which they will be Chuck Norris and stop a bank robbery or liquor store holdup.

Killing someone is easy, but living with it afterwards is the trick.

Truer words were never spoken, sadly I see it and here it much to often.

I held a guy at gunpoint on my back porch for 5 minutes waiting for the 911 dispatch to pull their heads from lower backside orfices to get an officer over. Guy was messed up on something, broke through my screen door, and was banging on the glass interior door in the mudroom. Shouted through the door repeatedly to "LEAVE" "DONT COME ANY FURTHER", and IF YOU COME THROUGH THIS DOOR I WILL SHOOT YOU" to no avail. I was afraid he was going to break the glass and likely mess himself up even worse, not knowing what he was on only made it more difficult. Until my then pregnant wife told the dispatcher that a gun(mine) was involved, it was going to be at least 30 minutes..... 3 cops showed up within 2 minutes of "gunpoint" being mentioned.....

Long story short, what the movies never show is what happens after the adreanalin starts to wear off, and you shake uncontrollably, when you start to think about what just happened.....
