Duck Dynasty not such a hit in NYC.

I guess Duck Dynasty is about the most popular TV show in America. Everybody is talking about it and I have tried to watch it a couple of times, but it was not very funny or entertaining to me. The last time I tried to watch it the gentlemen were together chatting and one of them was contemplating buying a hot tub. Well, he buys the hot tub and is sitting in it while talking to the other guys and, you know what is coming, that's right.. he passes gas. That was pretty much the highlight of the show. Now I like a good fart as much as anybody but I'm a little shocked that the multi billion dollar TV networks can't come up with something more original than that. Heck, the I Love Lucy show 60 years ago had funnier writers and their budget was probably pennies compared to Duck Dynasty.

I hear tell Cajun Lawyer prefers duck hunting to even fishing or hanging out in a court room. Charlie's brother Joe lives there, too. Must not be too bad a place.

Well, I never been to Loozyan but the wife's from Beaumont & we got married in suhthun Jawjuh AKA Mayport, Fla.

Spent our honeymoon in a bar in Jax Beach called The Family Tradition. The folks there coulda been extras on Duck Dynasty. Some of the greatest folks I've ever met in the colonies. I liked them a whole lot better than the yuppies I had to deal with as a Harley mechanic.

Most of the people passing by Trump Tower, and walking around most of Manhattan for that matter, are from either out of state or out of the country. You can tell, they're either looking up or have a camera in their hands.
People sure do make a lot of assumptions around here.

You are so right, my friend! Thank you.

Well heck, I'm from the north and I agree with you!! Southern gals are just the sweetest things... :D

I heard Phil Robertson gave up a football career... Professional and all, because it interfered with duck season.

He may not be smart, but he does what he wants, and I guess since Willie got his marketing degree things have really come around!

.

Wait one minute if Phil was an NFL prospect he must have played college ball? They didn't look at high school players back then. So otherwise how did they know he was good? Phil isn't dumb nor stupid it's how the show portrays them in a way. There pretty smart after all there millionaires and get to hunt fish and still live off the land. There simple people living a simple country life.
I wish I had a family like that there awesome.

i do alot of hunting and outdoors stuff. i wear camo. i have a full beard. grated my hair is not nearly as long as theirs. but i do just fine money wise. looks shouldnt dictate how a person is. i may appear a bit "rough" to the city folks, but then again i live outside the city in the country. where there are farms, livestock, deer, and GREAT fishing. im also just a 45 minute drive into detroit, where most of my work is done

"In the 1960s, Robertson, now 66, was the starting quarterback at Louisiana Tech for two seasons ahead of Terry Bradshaw. His teammates and a coach recall him as a talented, outdoors-obsessed character who walked away from his final year of eligibility to spend more time hunting and fishing, but had the talent to play in the NFL."

There's a big difference between people who like and understand DD and those who don't. People who are concerned with being "socially correct", to whom appearances are more important than character, don't take to this program. The rest of us understand where they are coming from and, while we probably aren't as laid back and "informal" as they are, deep down inside us we wish we could be more like them. They are comfortable with who they are and where they came from.

You got that right. I have one word PHONIES. It's about people trying to fit in. I wish I was one of DD just to hunt and fish.

It's funny I'm more welcome in vt. by the people up there than my neighbors at home.

I don't blame him I'd choose the outdoors and hunting over the NFL too. I'd rather live in the backwoods with the animals. If I had to do it all over again I'd be in Alaska.

Its actually kinda a shame, but most of these 'reality' shows are scripted pretty hard. One quote I read from some producer said that, hey, we have 80 hrs of tape for less than an hour show, we can make it as we want (paraphrased ;))
