This 39-2 gun was an unmitigated disaster when I got it from my idiot brother. He actually had JB bonded a metal strip on the bottom of the forward frame so he could zip tie a flashlight! Never seen anything like it. I too decided on Duracoat for the final finish doing all the work myself. Also the 39-2 was quite a challenge in disassembly/assembly. In the end I was able to save the gun and it looks so much better and functions perfectly. As mentioned I also put the gun to the side for a month before test shooting it. It is now going on 3 years, all is well with the finish. Had to use a dremel to clean up the frame area, glass beaded the frame, cold blued small parts, and then applied Duracoat.
