For the past few years, I've been concentrating on collecting Colts and S&W's. I've always had a liking for revolvers, and that isn't likely to change any time soon. I haven't ignored semi's, but they just haven't been at the top of my lists.

Saturday, I had the chance to widen my horizons a bit. My LGS had taken this semi in trade. It's an E.A.A. Witness, chambered in .38 Super. I already own a Springfield 1911-A1 in the same chambering. The price was right and, despite its weight, really felt good in my hand. A few bucks, and the appropriate paperwork, and I was on my way home with it.

Sunday, I took it to the range and "shook it out". What a pleasure to shoot! It has really good balance, and the weight really absorbs the recoil. It's accuracy is great also. A 5" group @ 25 yards will do just fine.

I've shot a few CZ75's, its progeny, and this one is a great copy. I fired 50 rounds of Fiocchi in it, with no jams, and ejecting cleanly every time. The frame is a bit longer in the grip (I guess to accommodate 10mm kits). I think I'll keep this one.

I also just got one, about two weeks ago. I share your views, it is very accurate and handles well. Mine's an early one, serial no. prefix is AE so that's one of the first 70,000. About 1994 the prefix changed to AF, just to give a feel for how old yours might be. Btw, mine has a large adjustable rear sight made almost like a Bomar. The gun fits fine in a Safariland holster made for the Glock 19, so I lucked out there! Enjoy!

Those Witnesses are good guns, and a good value, too. I currently own four of them......two SA 45's, a small-frame 40, and a 10mm that looks just like your Super. I picked the last one up used at a local funshop for $369 or so, and it's a hoot to shoot. I've never shot a Witness in 38 Super.....I bet it's a pussycat in that all-steel gun. I wonder if I need one?

I bought a used one in 45ACP that looked like it had only had maybe a box through it. I have not had the chance to shoot it yet but know it will be a nice gun. I have a Tangfolio TZ 75 custom 90 which is about the same gun and it's a sweet shooter which is why I jumped at the Witness when I had a chance. Go to EAA Corp's website as they have a recall on some models for the firing pin. It's a free fix and mine is in the recall so I will send the slide back for the fix. On their website it's under "Safety Tips". I'd send a picture of mine but have never done that and will have to figure out how someday!
