Upper 50s today in Pueblo (southern Colorado) with chilly rain. Lots of snow visible in the mountains a half-hour drive away. I expect even more anytime.
For perspective, we have experienced 21 straight years of drought conditions. This year has been restorative, leaving the prairie and foothills greener and healthier than we have seen in a long time. I'm not going to complain unless it gets truly ugly.
In the high country I've experienced snow on Labor Day and on the 4th of July. My truck is stocked with sleeping bags, blankets, my old Carhartt overalls, some good boots, a small stove, and other basic survival gear, just in case I am ever caught in a storm or stranded.
