The forum member "Rastoff" started a thread the other day about a bear that was seen in his yard and asked a question about what would be the best caliber to use in defense of such an animal. He never said he was going to shoot it and in fact stated such in his post. I guess it was my post that got the thread locked down so I wasn't able to write this there. So, I apologize to "Rastoff" publicly and want him and the forum to know my post was entered by me in the wrong context - I was only trying to offer some advice but again, shot myself in the foot by the way I did it. I sent "Rastoff" a P.M. about this but I also feel I owe an apology to the forum in general. Sorry sir.

We all "open mouth and insert foot" at times. Lord knows I have and I can't blame all of it on my Asperger's!

No harm, no foul! You manned up!

Reb, as you and others once said to me:"It takes a big--and real man, to admit to a bad error. Wal--yer a real gent and sure did. Your wife and we--yer friends--sure are proud as a game Hen to be able to rub electronic elbows with ye. :-)))

Yes, you manned up, though it was unnecessary. Therefore, I will respond in kind and in public because you deserve nothing less.

It was not your post that got the thread locked. I asked for it to be locked. Indeed your post drove me in that direction, but it wasn't the post itself. I misunderstood the content initially. You've explained it though and that makes sense.

I asked for it to be locked for two reasons. First, I'd already received the requested info so, anything else would just be redundant. Secondly, I didn't want more misunderstandings like mine to turn the thread into something it was never intended to be.

So, you didn't need to do this, but since you did I owe you the same respect. It's all good friend.

This is the reason this site rocks. Besides the vast knowledge of any topic under the sun, civility and respect always rule the day.

Good on both of you gentlemen. Does this mean no "bear summit"???
