Elec cordless leaf blowers

I have a DeWalt 60v. I use it very little for leaves other than the fence line between my neighbor's yard and mine where a flower bed and chain link fence collect and trap leaves. I use it more in the winter to clean out light snow dustings to the three driveways I maintain. Doing them requires 2 batteries. I can usually get two done with one battery but always need the extra battery to do the third drive way. It also works well for cleaning snow off a car, but I park in the garage so that's not an issue for me.

Bottom line is it works OK for small tasks. I would estimate run time on one battery to be around 20 minutes max.

It's that time of year. We've had corded leaf blowers for many years, but looking at cordless. I've heard good things about Ego brand. Can't seem to find real specs, (weight, is it multi speed or dialed variable?) How long do batteries take to recharge?

We have small yard but a couple of large trees. I know I don't need the biggest ones, but around a 100 mph should be more than plenty to move what we have.

Anyone any experience?

Any follow up? Leaves are starting to come down and still haven’t decided which way to go. I do have a gas powered Stihl backpack but.. it’s too heavy, straps are two wide for my shoulders and it’s a b…… to start! Really looking for something easier to use.

I wanted a battery powered hedge trimmer, but, my limited use could not justify the Milwaukee price so that the batteries would match.

Well, it turns out, that I found a B&D battery trimmer for $60 minus the battery.

Amazon has battery adapters for about $20.

I bought the adapter, and the B&D trimmer operates perfectly powered by Milwaukee batteries.

If you look for the battery adapter first, you could get a blower that could be powereed by batteries that you already have!!

I have a Kobalt 24v blower-500 CFM and 120 wind speed. Works good in small yards and isn't too expensive.

After buying 2 Kobalt weed wackers, I bought their blower and chainsaw too. Most awsome setup I ever owned. The blower is comparable to my old high velocity gas blower, the chainsaw equals my old Stihl saw, and the wackers are BETTER than my gas ones.

With 4 batteries I can do anything without running out of juice.

I've never had satisfactory battery life with any tool I've owned. I've never had an extension cord fail.
