Enough is Enough!, the past tense of Sneak is not Snuck!

Don't mind the use of 'slang-lish' words. But some things that do bug me , especially on a gun forum.

The big one is when someone uses the word 'ordinance' instead of 'ordnance' when dealing with firearms. There is no Para-Ordinance , or Auto-Ordinance , it's ORDNANCE , dammit!

Or 'Baretta' when it's "Beretta'. They can't even copy correctly off the gun.

Or 'Smith & Western'! Even worse , Smiff & Western!

Three more minutes of my life gone............I can't believe I fell for another one........

someone is a yankee..... that has been transplanted to Flordida!!!....Snuck is recognized in all pre-existing southern states....

The one I can't stand is "boolits" for bullets. I know it has something to do with cast bullets but it still looks stupid. (ready for flame attacks)

That's baloney! You really mean an "Easterner." :D

Us Indiana Yankees have long known the word and perfected its use in our culture. To wit: "He snuck out of the house, but she was waiting on him when he returned."

But for the most part, I agree with Anglaispierre - dinner (supper?) is just about ready.

Since we're discussing grammar, here are my Iowa based pet peeves relating to language usage.
1. The word Pumpkin is correctly pronounced "Punkin". The M and P create an "N" sound. (Interestingly that only manifests itself in this word).
2. The word Creek is correctly pronounced rhyming with Stick, not leak. This, to an Iowan, is self explanatory.
We need to talk more goodly on here, there are young 'uns watching. (Or at least I think a few may have snucked in).

I don't care about grammar or spelling.
Since we're a gun board we need to concentrate on saftey!
Handle your gun safley.
Keep the saftey on until ready to fire.

Hold on, I've got to run to Sherman Williams for some paint. I'm going to paint my chimbly.

Ha, ha! You're cracking me up! after rereading your post a number of times I picked up the transposed letters and the idea of taking safety advice from someone who can't spell the word.

Sly.

To sneak or not to snuck.THAT -------------------is the question.
Don't you love it when people say relator when they mean realtor.
Or orientate when they mean orient.:D

One can avoid the problem entirely by using "did" to form the past tense, as in, "I did sneak". But then you sound stuffy.

What's the past tense of "snickerdoodles"?

"Gone".
