A couple months ago everything in that compartment of my wallet fell out in a store and I didn't know it. The AutoZone I was in called me at home about an hour later, a customer found it all on a shelf on the front side of the register. Everything except my 10% off card at a local restaurant, the girls know me and take it off anyway.

There is nothing I have experienced like the relief of finding you license!

Many many years ago while on a Guadalupe River canoe trip my wife’s purse, which contained her wallet, along with another lady’s purse were purloined from my truck while we were ferrying canoes across the river for take out. We reported the theft to the local sheriff’s office, cancelled the credit cards and believed that would be the end of it. The only thing we regretted losing was a gold heart and chain I had given my wife before we were married. The chain broke that morning and she put the locket in the coin pocket of her wallet.

A couple of years later as I came home from work, I got the mail from the mailbox which contained an envelope from an unknown person in Universal City, Texas. The note inside stated that the writer had been rock hounding up a dry creek bed about five miles from where the theft occurred. He found my wife’s wallet on the ground, her old drivers license in the wallet, the credit cards fanned out, the gold locket still in the coin pocket with only the cash missing. The gentleman wanted to be sure we were still at the same address before mailing the contents back to us. Needless to say we were excited to get the locket back. Other than weather wear from two years of laying on the rocks, everything was in pretty good shape. There are still men of honesty and integrity in this old world.

Be safe and blessed.

About 3 months ago, I lost my car keys. Both cars/trucks, house key, misc. keys. We looked everywhere. I knew I had them because I unlocked the door when I came in. Looked everywhere TWICE. Cost over $300 to get the keys replaced (Both had chips in them), not to mention the lock/alarm switch for her car.

About 2 weeks ago, I had been after her to clean up the roll top desk. She had been working at home during lockdown and had papers strewn everywhere. I was sorting through all the "stuff" and found my keys underneath one of her folders. She SWORE she had looked through everything TWICE!

About the same time, I was taking pictures of our veggies and laid my camera down. Five minutes later, I couldn't find it. Looked everywhere twice! After a week or so, I bought a new camera kit off of Amazon ($600). The day after it arrived I put my tools away (I do that every 2 months or so), I found it sitting behind my drill press.

If I delay getting my new 'improved' license soon.

Next to last time I renewed I got the "Real ID" with the star and enhanced features. Real handy at the airport. I renewed last year and it's completely different. I guess when they insert the "Real ID Chip" at the base of my skull I won't need to renew again. Glad you found your "papers." Joe

Former coworker found a wallet one day and took it to the address on the license. The gentleman that answered the door matched the picture and was grateful to the point of wanting to give the finder all the cash in the wallet, the better part of $200. Why? His Green Card was in there too. Losing a Green Card is pretty major with the INS. My coworker refused the money, but IIRC still got $20 stuffed in his shirt pocket by the guy.
