I cut my grass this morning and just for the heck of it I put my I-phone in my back pocket, turned on the Health app to see how far mowing my 1/2 acre lawn would take me. After I finished I checked it out and saw that I had walked 1.2 miles. I didn't think it would be that far.

Am more concerned if i can stay upright while cutting it. My cardiologist looked at me askance when i told him several years ago i was still cutting grass. Asked him what's the point if i can't even cut grass anymore.

I measured it once the same way. Weed eat and mow was right at two miles.

I have a little over an acre to mow. Most is on the rider, but some is with the push mower and weed whacker.

It's therapy to me. The reward to see a perfectly mowed and trimmed lawn makes the beer taste even better.

A man after my own heart! I used to come home from work and see the wife had already mowed the lawn (God bless her), but inside I was sad.

Mowing the lawn on the rider (with a cold beer) is therapeutic for me after work. Now that I'm retired, she won't do it unless I'm on the other mower.

And I get to push mower the ditch out front and do the weed wracking.

I'll have to check to see how far that is. Probably about 1,000 feet total with the push mower. More than enough.

for the first time in years I watched the wife mow the lawn this past weekend.. I always do it... son & I sat i lawn chairs managing the grill drinking a beer... she looked more tired than after one of her half marathons... it will hurt more when I mow next time because I know it should... 1/3 acre all push mower

With my cardiac issues I don't mow the lawn myself anymore. So the next best thing is when I do the shopping at Sam's Club and Walmart for myself and my aunt and uncle. Park a good ways out in the parking lot, and then do a lot of back and forth in the aisles. At my old cardiologist's recommendation I got a pedometer application to put on my cell phone. When I go to both Walmart and Sam's Club I can come up with over 4000 steps, or better than 2 miles. My doctors all want me to walk more, and I imagine it doesn't matter where.

My yard's not big, but there are a number of obstacles to mow around, so it's about 2 miles according to Samsung Health.

Most days at work are 6-8 miles, but a few have been over 11. I'm on my feet moving most of the day with a bit of sitting behind a computer which varies from day to day depending on what I have to accomplish.
