Ever given away a S&W?

I am not sure what happened--at one moment I had a nice M28 and the next it was my daughters and I was buying another, I looked for a PPK the other day and my daughter informed me that it was in her car.
I attribute it to senior moments as I don't want to call my daughter a thief---on the other hand I found some tags that say mine on a few guns in the safe ??

Yes, a 36-7 (Lady Smith) to my younger daughter as a CCW when & if she decides to pursue her carry permit. In the interum I'm teaching both her and my son-in-law how to shoot it.

Not yet and my kids have no interest whatsoever in firearms. I must have "over taught" them to leave guns when they see them when they were still very young. I didn't frighten them or anything, I just said "if you see a gun in a room, leave the room" but I'll take my lumps from my fellow firearms enthusiasts now.

Giving my boys S&W 9mm's for Christmas this year. Have given them Shotguns, 10/22's, Big Game Rifles and before that sling shots and BB guns LOL. And an LC9 for my wife this year after our house got broken in to. The Boys are now 24 & 21.

I gave my cousin a Model 37 last year, she lives alone and wanted some protection. I also gave the 75 year old gentleman that I bought my house from a Terrier in .38 S&W. He can no longer operate his Derringer and needed a revolver. I couldn't take money from someone in need.

I have a 14 yr old daughter and a 19 yr old son, they are both well equipped for the range and the woods, tomorrow they are both getting NRA life memberships for Xmas, but I really got a smile out of this one.
My wife has a single friend with a 12 yr old son, he is right into guns big time, so we started the safety training and he passed every test I gave him, he shoots with us weekly, mostly my kids guns, about a month ago he was over the house for a shoot and noticed my daughter was sporting a new marlin 22 and the son a new H+R single 20 ga, when he found out they were his...wow...doesn't describe it, I have a new best friend

I gave a 6" Model 17 to my son in law and a Model 15 to my son when he graduated from law school.

A friend ( and cousin ) of my Dad's gave me two beautiful S&Ws ( a 2" deep blue Model 10 and a perfect nickle plated Model 36 ) from her days with the Colorado Springs PD. She is in her 80s and her kids are anti gun. Lucky for me.

BTW, in her youth she was one of the most beautiful women I have ever seen.

I gave a model 67 no dash with box, paperwork, and the rest of the goodies to my son a few years ago and this year I got it back as he wanted a semi auto 9mm so I gave him a Sig P228 I had as an extra. I had the Sig P228 stolen and then bought another one and a few months ago I got the stolen one back.

I gave our son a Model 586, a Model 617, a Model 16-4, and a 20 gauge semi-auto shotgun, but I can't remember the Make. The three handguns were stolen in a burglary, so shortly after that I gave him a Model 64. He will get the rest of the guns & equipment when I move along.

yes i did last year. my dad died in 96 in his will he left me a S&W model 30-1 i knew why he did it. he had a lot of guns to be sold when he died but he left me this little smith. he told me when he was a boy that his dad had a 32 S&W but it got missing when his dad died and he was sorry he never got it, that is why he bought this one. and that is why he left it to me.

my brother is a master carpender, he builds sypress and ceder strip boats, he built me one. what we in the south call a sneek boat, for fishing the swamps an local rivers. it is powdered with a modified trolling moto

r. i gave him the smith our daddy left me for payment. i diden't have to give it to him but he always liked the gun and i know my dad would have been glad i did, we are a close family. this is my ceder strip boat.

I gave my twin daughters a pair of Model 63's last Christmas...

But more in line with the what I believe was the original intent of the thread...I gave a birth year Model 17 to a good friend as a statement of thanks and a "welcome home" upon his return from service in Iraq.

my son turned 40 this year, so i gave him something special........ S&W model 681 (no dash) and S&W model 13-2, 3" barrel.

It is sitting in my safe along with 250 rounds waiting for him to come in on leave.

@Olskool The boat is beautiful, and I'm sure your dad would be proud that you shared his heirloom with your brother.

I have given away at least fifteen (mostly Colt, Smith & Wesson, Remington, Ruger, quality militarys and one Armalite AR 10) firearms and shall give more. Mostly the gifts were made to young shooters who would not be able to get started shooting given the insane prices for quality firearms these days and a few were to friends for self protection.

My brother was the recipient of a 6" 586 I gave him last year. He is 80+ and has taken up the sport of target shooting. He sets his targets at 12 yards and he usually shoots a one hole six shot group. I provide the 38s and he buys lunch. We enjoy this time together and it's been a close association for two brothers who are 18 years apart in age.

If you don't count the ones given to my beautiful wife and to my sons, I have not given any others away yet. But, reading this thread has moved me to get off my butt and hand out the Smiths I have stored in the safe for my grandsons when I tip over. This way I'll get to share the smiles with them!!
