Admin Edit-
I'll leave this thread because I realize the story is on everyone's mind and all over the media.

However,
Stick to the topic, or it goes away.

The Rules have not changed.
We won't be going into racial issues, discussing black panthers, retrying OJ, or trying to figure out if Fuhrman was a racist.

Read The Rules.

Guy used to work for the L.A.P.D. He was fired. Retaliating. Murdered the daughter of a cop on Sunday and killed a cop early this morning. Has written a long manifesto.

If in L.A. be careful. Here is his manifesto. Interesting to say the least:

W.C. Varones: Psycho cop Christopher Jordan Dorner's manifesto

I believe after reading his so called manifesto that this individual
will not end up in jail.

When the boys catch up with him, he is definitely heading for the morgue.

Oh yeah. I think he even admitted he won't live to see the changes he wants. Big panic in Southern CA right now. My brother lives in Cypress which is where he is from.

They know what his truck and license is so I don't think he makes through the day. I just hope they get him before he gets anyone else.

Corruption and ruining someones life can send someone over the edge. I know it does not justify his actions, but if any of his story is true, he snapped off because of this. Unfortunately we will never know because he is going to die resisting.

Yep. And the sad part, he was a decorated VET, had high level of security clearance, smiling in all his pictures. He seemed to be quite a normal guy, happy, and he abhorred racism, all racism. He snapped.

But I can honestly say, he is probably right on at least some of the things he said about the culture at the L.A.P.D. Promotions, protecting friends, people with agendas, etc.

Remember, his original sin was to report a fellow officer who he said mistreated a citizen.

A very dangerous person, indeed. Sadly, I do believe he will take others' lives before he is sent to an untimely death. But pray my prophecy is untrue.

He is smart which will complicate matters immensely.

Wish I was there to assist the local citizens and LEO's.

Be safe.

I'm pretty certain that what he states in his manifesto is true.
It's a shame there is so much known corruption within LAPD and other large and small departments.
I don't agree that murder of anyone, including family members is the answer. I guarantee this will draw attention within the LAPD to investigate the hole department.

They, the L.A.P.D. were under a Federal Supervision of some sort after the Rodney King beatings. Part of this guy's complaint is that the Federal supervision should have never been released.

I'm not a big Federal Government guy and don't know if their supervision of the L.A.P.D. was warranted but as we all know....there's corruption and unfairness in virtually every organization. This guy snapped but that doesn't make his allegations untrue.

I skimmed his long manifesto. My impressions are that he is highly intelligent but not wise. I think he probley had some honest gripes years ago that were covered up. I belive that. He obvisely snapped. What I dont understand is all of this stuff happened 4 to 7 years ago. What happened in the last 5 years since? That gets into some form of mental illness that I dont understand. Evidently he lived on hate for 5 or 6 years untill he snapped. We might get lucky and hopefully he will get blindsided. He wont be taken alive for more than one reason.

I wouldn't call it "snapped". Fed up is a better term. When something/someone destroys your whole life, including everything you were brought up to believe in and work for and you have nothing left to live for, it's not unnatural to want to defend to the end.
As stated in his writings, Dorner wants to bring this to a head where something is done within the department to make changes and stop the corruption.
I believe he also wants to ruin Quan's life and family as retaliation to his ruined life.
I'm certain that Dorner's life hasn't been the only casualty from departmental abuse.
I feel for the man, actually. Sorry that so many other lives will be affected.

He may just walk in and surrender so he can tell is story.
Not to LAPD...another agency. Maybe feds.

Or he has fled the state.
Or he holed up and picked his battleground.

I agree but even so there is no excuse to hunt and kill people he never met. He couldnt have known every cop on lapd, yet he`s declairing open season on all of them. If he`s much more successfull he probley will to some extendt cause a closer look at the department and you can bet the department will be looking even closer at it`self as a result to him. As long as humans and not robots are on very department, company and job in the world you are going to have this to some extendt on every job, everywhere.

The first two murders occurred about 10-12 miles from my house in a part of Irvine that I know well. This story definitely caught my attention.

In the latest update, Dorner is suspected of further overnight shootings in Riverside County that have resulted in one more officer death and another officer in critical condition.

There is no possible good outcome to this. The least bad outcome is that Dorner's activities are stopped before other officers or their family members are killed or wounded. I sincerely hope that all other individuals named in his manifesto are now massively guarded and that their families have been relocated to unknown places. This is a guy with a list.

I completely agree that the manifesto is the work of a man who is smart and literate, but far from wise. There is fascinating evidence there for the psychologists who will do a psychiatric analysis of the document's author.

I started reading and just couldn't go on. I think that people who write that poorly, shouldn't be putting their thoughts down on paper.

I also thought that now we're going to have to regulate it so LEOS whom are fired, can't have firearms.

That was levity.

Now rumour control says the guy owns property in LasVegas. Sure glad I don't drive a Nissan Titan...

If his statements are to be believed, he has built up justification for his past and future activities. I don't see him turning himself in. I do see a lot of danger for any LEO that gets around him. It sounds like a mission, and he will do his best to carry it out. I can only hope for a car crash on his way to his next victims. This is going to get uglier.

Looking at the pictures of him in his Navy uniform, he was a full Lieutenant, and some of the copy says he was attached to Naval Special Warfare. None of the pictures show a Bud emblem so I'm guessing EOD, or Corpsman?

Someone reportedly found a badge and ID belonging to him in the San Diego airport, and supposedly he tried to steal a boat in San Diego about 0800 today.

In short, they don't know if he's in Southern California, Nevada, or Mexico.

All this assumes the reports are correct.

I worked in Irvine for several years. It is probably one of the cleanest nicest communities to live in in the entire country. He murdered the assistant women's basketball coach for Cal St. Fullerton where I played basketball virtually every Saturday and Sunday during the late 80s and early 90s. She was the daughter of one of the cops on the review board who fired him.

He killed another today. The pain and suffering this man has caused cannot be measured. He may have been wronged, peopel get wronged every day in life. But scripture says God will judge.....and sadly, this man did not believe in scripture. He states the Bible is a fairy tale in his manifesto. And that's why he is doing what he is doing......

L.A. Police Shoot Two Innocent People During Manhunt for Ex-Cop | TheBlaze.com

Oh and it turns out he was a heavy left leaning gun control proponent so the main stream media will ignore this...

Suspected Mass-Murderer's Manifesto Endorses Hillary, Obama, Gun Control, Elite Media

Wow.....panic in Southern California. They are shooting people in trucks that look like his? whoaa...

Yes. Shoot first ask questions later. It wasn't even the same color truck.

Police accidentally shot two newspaper deliverers driving a pickup truck early Thursday morning in a case of mistaken identity linked to the search for Christopher Dorner.

The shooting occurred around 5:15 a.m. in the 19000 block of Redbeam Avenue when a patrol unit assigned to a protective detail identified a truck similar to that of Dorner's. The officers had been assigned to guard the home in response to the suspect's written threats to department officials in a rambling 20-page manifesto.

Police said the blue truck was driving down the street without its light on when the shooting occurred.

Two people suffered gunshot wounds and are listed in minor and stable condition.

There was also a second civilian shooting.

This is going to probably end worse than it started. I pray all of my brothers and sisters stay safe out there.

Unfortunately I am sure there is some, I say some, truth to his manifesto. but that does not warrant killing people who have nothing to do with your career or end of it. If he was that concerned about the word getting out he should have just used the press. They would have been more than happy to run with it.

The shooter seems to blame an imaginary conspiracy or racists for all his problems. He murdered the daughter and her fiance of his former lawyer. He also wanted to shoot other officers for allegedly using a racially charged word in conversation (not even directed at him) and did physically attack that officer. Wonder why he left the Navy....O3 draws better pay than LAPD offers.

You do not murder your lawyer's family just because you lose your case. Under no remotely sane theory of vengeance or even most insane ones would that be appropriate.

Resentment is cancer of the soul...

He appears to have a fierce sense of right and wrong, which feeds his obvious righteous indignation (being wrongly accused.) The stress incurred in these events that he listed, as well as others, along with whatever baggage he carried to the job each day (we all have some) combined with the loss of personal integrity that he feels was wrongly ripped from him,(and which has a very high value to him) results in his feeling (actually and personally) disenfranchised, with nothing else, as far as he is concerned, to lose. In this scenario, an 80 year old, 75 pound woman with a letter opener is very dangerous, much less this trained and motivated individual. The time frame tells me that this (these) actions have been dwelt upon for so long that what happens now is the release of the accumulated stress. Join me in praying for this person, and those implicated here. An intervention from God, in some form, seems the only likely resolution in this situation, in my view.

A true tragedy. No good guys, only innocent victims, everybody loses, everybody's a victim. It seems that so many cases today are because people can't process their frustrations, disappointments, failures, and rejections. They just fester until they go beserk.
