Extractor rod loosening correction

Clean both threads well, then use #222 low strength LocTite to reassemble. This one and the blue medium strength #242 can both be undone with no heat. It won't take much to keep it from coming undone once it's clean and tight. Too much clearance between the male and female threads is usually the problem.

Blue Loctite never really sets up 100%. It stays kinda "gummy", so for something you may one day want to disassemble it is the the perfect solution IMO. It's gumminess is more than enough to keep things from spontaneously loosening up, but it's bond is still weak enough that you can break it to disassemble the parts and pieces at a later date if necessary.

The only tool I've ever needed was a 1" long piece of leather cut from an old belt and a vice or vice grip pliers. That's always worked for me, but YMMV.
