Extractor rod wobble

I've replaced a few of these for a couple of reasons, and I've found that usually the rod can be rolled across a flat surface. If it's straight, when it rolls across the bench, then it's not bent. If it wobbles when installed, then it's likely the fit. Replacements are cheap enough to not worry about straightening a bent rod.

at this point, it is so negligible that it has to be fit. I backed it up and re-tightened a few times the other night. The only one of my revolver with zero runout when fully installed is my performance center 629 competitor. The other 3 have slight wobble, with the 29 now being the better of the 3.

Extraction works perfectly and is not gritty in any position. So at this point, I think it's as good as it's going to get without messing with the powers custom tools. But since it's already a lot better, I think I'm set

it can be perfectly straight, and still not be mating up well with the ejector star causing it to wobble a bit also. I have pretty good luck with gently stoning a 90° on the threaded end of an otherwise straight rod. You want to avoid removing too much metal, it's more like a deburr.
