F-86 Flies Again!

I think I read that Sabres against the Migs had the highest kill ratio ever, even higher than the Flying Tigers. I think it may have been 14 to 1. Quite a reflection of our boys and their training and tactics.

The Hellcat's kill ration was even higher, something like 23:1.

Love seeing the vintage jets. I was a Jet engine Mech on F84's among other jets. When in Wheelus AFB Tripoli Libya in the early 60's there were 86's as well as our 84's and 105's (as well as a few others). It was always a thrill climbing in the cockpit of a warbird to make sure it ran right.

I always really enjoyed the old movies of the Korean war/military action/whatever!

F-86 vs Mig-15/17 were always good for a thrill at the theater!!

I search looks like the ratio was 6:1 in favor of the F-86......

Absolutely. I have read the two aircraft were virtually neck-and-neck, performance-wise. The USAF Gunnery School, currently called the USAF Weapons School, was an outstanding idea.
