What I've seen recently was a K frame with 2 slots along either side the front sight. Any pic's of factory ports from the late 1980's to mid 1990's would be a help. Didn't know S&W ported guns, thanks.

Thanks. Is that considered a factory gun then? I suppose you'd need a letter to verify.

Yes, probably would need a letter unless you have the box with the product code which would likely confirm the porting. . . or lack thereof.

What was the K frame you are looking at? There were some Performance Center models, the Model number and version, i.e., M19-7, would be helpful.

As well, pics are helpful.

You asked for pics, here's a couple M13's that were factory quad ported, these being PC versions....

And here's a couple L frames that were quad ported.

Certainly not one of SmithNut's absolutely outstanding K Frames, but here's a factory ported J Frame Model 460 Performance Center Centennial Airweight that I recently acquired.

It was more like yours demkofour but bigger slots. full underlug and top lug too that front site base is part of. At a gun show and i looked at 20 revolvers and can't remember model, 2T, 6 inch, nice wood finger groove grips. Price was $2200. The place was elbow to elbow and i had a grandson with a bad case of Krag fever so moved on. Now i wonder if it was a Model 16:rolleyes:, don't think i stood a chance getting price low enough to make it worth walking in the the door back home.

I have a 629 classic hunter, unfluted cylinder, 6.5 inch barrel with a single large port just in front of the sight, I think they called it a power port. I read it was only offered in 1990 and only about 3500 produced.

That's a nice looking J frame! I like it in blue with wood grips better than mine which is stainless with black grips. Mine also has 2 ports per side.

I own a 642 J frame that is factory Magna ported. It is not a performance center version, and the box shows it was sold by S&W that way.
