I posted a couple of pictures of a revolver I bought, over on the forum for pinned and recessed guns. Mine is a 66-1 with a 3" barrel and it is in need of some work. I called the factory for the shipping info today and they asked for a letter that described what work was needed. I am a first time owner and want to avoid a double trip due to the $50 shipping.
They did say that they would review the condition of the gun and give an estimate before starting work.
The areas that are obvious are the end shake, yolk shake, a bit of slop in the cylinder lock, cylinder gap, a hammer that moves side to side a bit on the DA stroke, and some banged up screw heads.
There is no push off. The cylinder rod looks straight. The trigger pull seems smooth and not too light, but I dont have a scale.
What am I missing that should be in the letter.
The intended use is mostly range, but carry is an option so no overly light trigger work is desired. Should specific measurements for some items be given?
Thanks for the help.
