Birmingham Alabama police seargent Watashya Carter is being memorialized today at the BJCC .My prayers go out to his family and loved ones especialy his children. This is just a reminder that our police officers are truly the "thin blue line " that separates honest hardworking Americans from the bottom feeders that would prey on innocents and often times the weakest of our society. If you get a chance in the next few days or weeks try to say thank you to an officer as they often times don't hear that from the citizens they so bravely stand and defend. To all our officers whether on the job or retired I say thank you so much from a grateful citizen that realizes because of you I can sleep in relative peace and safety tonight.

It is a sad time for law enforcement officers in America today. Years ago we seldom had problems recruiting good men and women to become officers. However it is not that way today. The problem really got bad about ten years ago when we got a new president who was ultra liberal and who constantly bad mouthed the police, along with our ultra liberal news media. I can't imagine being a young man today and starting a 30 year career in law enforcement again. I believe we are getting very close to anarchy in America. All of us need to be praying for our law enforcement officers.

America is short over 40,000 police officers today.. Nobody wants the job.
Can't say as I blame them, I don't either.

I did it for 37 years and while it was the best of times and worst of times, I could not do the job today, I am not politically correct. I understand that the New Hampshire legiislature is considering a law to make it illegal for LEO to use deadly force to make an arrest.

My son is a 17 year veteran of a local sheriff's dept. They currently have job openings that they have not been able to fill. The other day they held interviews and half of those that applied did not show up.
