Family wants to buy my .45acp revolver

Maybe I missed something, but why are many assuming the OPs family is going to rip him off or flip it? I didn't see anything in their inquiry indicating that suspicion; just asking for a price.

In some (too many) families the chance to make money destroys common sensibilities! It isn't limited to your guns! Grandpa's tools, car, or baseball card seem to be treated as fair game.

I sell or give family items to my brother and kids! But almost all of my cousins and nephews, no way!

Unless you just want to unload the gun, try and keep it.

Just my $0.02.
If it wasnt a family member/ close friend I trusted enough to just lend it to for a few months or a year, then I wouldnt sell it to them either.
If it was a really close family member I would probably gift it.
These family members/ close friends would usually offer a fair amount for it anyway and not take no for an answer.
