From one of my favorite post '60s movies:

"I guess you'll just have to kill me."

"It'll hurt if I do."

For extra points, name the movie that it was a remake of, AND the movie THAT was a remake of.

"He's about six and a half feet tall. He eats raw squirrels and all the cats he can catch. There's a long, jagged scar that runs all the way across his face. His teeth are yella and rotten. His eyes are popped. And he drools most of the time."

Great post!

Oh yeah. . .I got it, or two-thirds of it. :o

This is from Last Man Standing. Last Man Standing was a remake of the famous Akira Kurosawa film, Yojimbo. I have no idea what Yojimbo was a remake of. Can I get partial extra credit? ;)

"Missed by THAT much!"

It's a remake of "A Fistful of Dollars", which was in turn a remake of "Yojimbo".

Speaking of American movies with Japanese roots:

"Is that, uh... your profession or... your pleasure?"

"Both, I guess. To be paid to do what you love... ain't that the dream?"

For extra credit, what TV show AND movie(s) were this movie based on? The '80s dubbed American release or the generic title of the franchise are acceptable. A hint:

"When cut across the neck, a sound like wailing winter winds is heard, they say. I'd always hoped to cut someone like that someday, to hear that sound. But to have it happen to my own neck is ridiculous."

Little Big Man.

Ding-ding-ding-ding!!! We have a winnah! :D

There were so many good lines in that movie, but I especially loved the rendition of Custer, who, if not quite the dandified narcissist depicted by Richard Mulligan in the movie, came purty darn close to it. In his great book, "Crazy Horse and Custer: The Parallel Lives of Two American Warriors," Stephen Ambrose offers some pretty convincing evidence that Custer was indeed looking for one more victory with which to launch a Presidential campaign in the 1876 election. Anyway. . .who woulda thunk that this great group of gun nuts were such a great source of esoteric cinematic "knowledge." ;) This board is great!

From the same movie as the other quote I posted

"I'd have three more guns on me right now if I wasn't such a nice guy"

From a movie you don't see mentioned very much.

Buffalo gun?
ans; my own load.
Where you learn to shoot like that?
ans: huntin Apache
When?
ans: Before I know better.

One of the few movies that I can watch over and over. This is a great thread. Brings back a lot of memories.

I thought I was a big movie nut, but you guys have stumped me pretty good on some of your posted quotes.

I'm enjoying this tremendously..!! :)

From arguably the best modern day action movie ever made....:

"Nine million terrorists in the world and I gotta kill one with feet smaller than my sister."

Die Hard!! I'd have been happy if they never made a sequel.

Tombstone?

Nope. Looked it up, I'm wrong.

I can hear The Duke say it (in a western), but can't place the movie..??

Tombstone was a good guess.!

EDIT: I looked it up too. I'm out.

"You think of women as disposable pleasures, rather than meaningful pursuits..."

Casino Royale for; "You think of women as disposable pleasures, rather than meaningful pursuits..."

Is that right?

or from the same movie

"Delicious. Is this Italian?"

"No....actually, its Spanish."
