Fantasy Build -- the perfect belt carry revolver

I guess I don't have a lot of imagination, so I suggest several factory revolvers. For discrete carry 4" M -19/66, 2 ½" M – 19/66, or 3" M 65-5.

For deeper concealment M 640-1 .357 Magnum, 642, or M-60 with a bobbed hammer.

I think a 9 M/M shield may work well, but I don't care for auto-loaders and I'm not sure about those new fangled plastic guns:rolleyes:

I'd like a 4 inch 610 with a u notch rear sight and a green fiber optic front. Then a smooth trigger and a great action job should do it, along with a good set of staggs

3" K-frame, round butt .357s have to be the closest to the perfect out of the box carry guns any handgun manufacturer has ever made.

The 13, 65, 65LS and 66 all have great balance and the .357 Magnum 125 grain HP is the standard by which all other defensive rounds are judged.

Think of a 12Ti.....round butt total titanium frame and cylinder and an all stainless one piece 3" stainless barrel just to put some weight out front...

I already have mine - 4" M65 loaded with 158gr GDHPs running around 1200 fps. Maybe add a BigDot on the front.

A 242 would be pretty close, although it is even uglier than my old Bodyguard M38. Maybe a 386Sc with Merwin-Hulbert style folding hammer. I have a couple of guns with bobbed hammer which are no problem shooting, DA is best; but I would like the capability to draw back the hammer enough to drop the cylinder stop and roll the cylinder to catch high primers, bulgy cases, or other sources of binding.

A 3-inch, 5-shot, L-frame. Bodyguard shrouded hammer, chambered in .44 Spl. Round butt, AirLite, flat-side tapered barrel, and the Novak like adjustable sights they use on the Pro Series J-frames. Uncle Mike boot grips. As an option, same gun as a 7-shot .357.

This is closest. I'd want a 5-shot L-frame 41 Mag, fixed sights, all steel, 3" tube.

Since you asked, a 681 frame, 7 shot cylinder, heavy barrel from a 65, beefed up forcing cone, and a good head in a ramp front sight, zeroed for full house 125gr. .357 MAGNUM!

I also have a couple of the Performance Center 7 shot 681's. They also are outstanding. The 4" Camfour Quad port would have made a great duty gun, and was carried as a duty gun in the auto age by a friend of mine. Today, it is in a Milt Sparks holster as a heavy duty concealment gun for the outdoors. My Green and Black T 3" is still working on my "trust". It didn't work reliably when I got it and had to go back to SMith. Once I get enough rounds through it, I am hoping it will gain my trust as a carry gun as it is set up great in its 3" 7 shot configuration.

For now, the 3" 65 that I think was a custom shop gun is near perfect for me as a carry revolver. I also have a 3" Model 10-5 at Robar right now that is being made from Fantasy to Reality. With some forethought and work, it is possible to make your dream guns actually happen.

A 5 shot L frame in 45 acp with a 3" barrel and a bunch of light alloy. Empty weight under 20oz. I want to replace my 44 bulldog with a 45acp Smith of the same weight and approx size.

If your talking open belt carry, I already have a great piece. A model 629 N frame that's been redone to a 4" 45 Colt and and cut for ACPs with moon clips.

I'm with steelshaver, you didn't specify concealed or open.

A 5" N-frame Mountain Gun would be my open carry pick. Steelshavers convertible sounds good, though I'm not a .45 Colt fan.
A 10mm for full moons would be awesome, though .44 special/ magnum would be fine.

A 396 for concealed. Again I like Steelshavers idea of a 5-shot .45ACP with moons.

Honestly I would like a 3" R8. I like the chamfered, moon clips, and 8 shot.... I like the rail for a shiggles, and I would throw some meprolight night sights.

Honestly the only reason I dont own an R8 is that the barrel is too long for IDPA.

My second entry will be a 7-shot, royal blue finished 586. A 2-1/2" barrel with only a shrouded ejection rod like the model 19 rather than the full underlugs typically found on the L frames. I would also like the top strap to be checked like the model 27s. While we are at it I'll take a target hammer, but a smooth service trigger.

Wouldn't you prefer a full length ejector rod?

I would rather have the shorter lighter barrel for the day in day out carrying.

I have never had a problem with a short rod and an extra half inch of barrel doesn't do much for me on performance.

A 3 inch six shot L-frame......... in all other aspects..... visualize a slightly scaled down 31/2" pre- Model27

For carry a set of Checkered Spegel boot grips in birds-eye maple..... or for bling a set of Executioner's no bark stag grips with a T-grip adapter........

Oh or how about a Colt Python but instead of the goofy innards let's have a S&W L frame lock work. While we are at it lets make the cylinder turn in the correct direction.[emoji12]
