We got onto Dutch beers in another topic, and I think it's best to open a separate beer thread.

I like Michelob, Heinneken (sp?), Grolsch, and Samuel Smith's Old Pale Ale. (The last is technically not a beer.)

I think Kirin is a Japanese version of Michelob. Tastes like it to me, anyway. And I like Budweiser, especially when its unique flavor becons.

I dislike Coors, which seems sort of ephemeral. Too lght is too light. Heinniken (sp?) is my light beer.

I don't swill beer, so can afford the brands I prefer. A six-pack will last me a week or more. Some guys drink that in a night. Their appearance often reflects that.

What's your favorite beer?

Deschutes Black Butte Porter is my house beer, though the Pyramid Octoberfest was pretty darn good this year! Big Time Brewery makes an Oatmeal Stout that is an absolute meal in a mug, one you can't but down.

Well, I hope I won't be branded as a bad American but I am getting worried about the beer this country is producing. See I'm not a fan of lite beer. It is getting harder and harder to find a really good American beer.

Right now my favorite American beer is brewed right here in Texas. It's called Shiner Black and I think it is only available on tap. Shiner Boch in long necked bottles is good too.

The Mexicans on the other hand have it going on. Negro Modelo and Negro Leon are very good beers. I prefer the full rich flavor of REAL beer.

Have you tried Sam Adams? I agree about some better Mexican beers, including Negro Modelo. And about fuller flavored beers. I forgot to mention Tuborg, a Danish item. And the German Lowenbrau.

+1 on both Negra Modelo and Yeungling. Abita Amber out of Louisiana is good stuff. I also like Michelob Amber Bock.

I'm not fussy. I can drink almost any beer, although some are higher on the like list. I usually only buy Straub for here at the house. It's a local PA beer made in St. Marys, PA

I don't often drink beer my friends, but, when I do I drink Corona. Stay testy, or is that tasty?

I don't drink much beer, but on a hot evening, an ice-cold bottle of "Hog Heaven" hits the spot. It's pricey ($6.00 per bottle), but it's about 10% alcohol, so it doesn't take too much before I start making a fool of myself, and that's what life is all about. Isn't it?
