Favorite J Frame Ever Made?

Grips

Harrish those grips would be great on my 442 no lock. What might they be?

I posted earlier that the model 63 was my favorite "J" frame revolver. I have to amend that statement because today I picked up a model 60 pro. The fit & finish surpasses my old model 63 and it's very well done inside and out.

I can't wait to get to the range.

They are from Altamont. Altamont makes them for SW. They are not on their website. But they are the grips that are found on the current 642 Talo model. When you call Altamont just tell them that. Super Rosewood. $65 shipped.

But, H Richard, I am most envious of your Chief Special Target Model. I have wanted one of those for a very long time.

I have several J-frames and like them all, and have enjoyed checking out the ones posted up here, some real nice revolvers. Here's one that's a bit of an oddball. Model 650, 22Mag, 1984 production. Some came with a 22LR cylinder too, but this one didn't. I bought it new back then.

My 442 gets the most carry time, followed by a 60-15. if i had to pick a favorite, though...I vote for my 34-1. It puts alot of holes in the same place. The only other revolver I own that shoots as well is a 19-3.

My all time favorite Snub Nose period is the Smith&Wesson Model 60 in .357 Magnum. Carry mine daily, absolutely love it. Wouldn't part with it for anything in the world.

SW 442-1 no-lock DA only for perfect combat shooting and sealed action for keeping free of pocket junk and snagging.Leave the SA snag hammers and SA shooting for cowboy play shooter games. In a pocket holster with your choice of ammo. The 442-1 finish wears better and shows less .

Of the several Js I own, the one I actually carry the most often is the infamous 340PD. I alternate it with a Glock 42. I know.....

My favorite J Frame by far is the Model 60-4 full lug, adjustable sight 3 inch version made for just a couple years. Alas, I don't get to carry it because my wife uses it as her her CCW.

Favorite J-frame

I currently have two; a 340Sc and a 640. I can't choose one as favorite over the other. Both are exceptional. I'm still looking for a 640 Pro, though.

I have 3. A 1970 model 60 a 1999 337ti & a 2014 340pd. I use the 340 the most because it has all I want. Scandium frame ,titanium cylinder, internal hammer & no ILS.
