I own several nice N-frames, an early 686, a couple of snubbies, and I like them all, but my favorite has to be the beat-up old cop-carried Model 64. Its trigger is as good or better than any of the others, it's more accurate than me, and it's indestructible, so it gets to ride along on lots of adventures.

I have a lot of loves, but these little gems are my all time faves.

It does not surprise me that the 57 got a good number of votes. I would have thought the 686 would have been much closer behind.

utility/use wise, overall, if i had to chose... my 13-1 with 4" barrel with a fantastic trigger job.

Other than that any pinned and recessed (where applicable) , earlier the better, revolver.

Well, I won't "yell at" you.

The Chiefs Special (later known as Model 36) didn't make the list.

Although I have Airweight (Model 37) and stainless (Model 60) Chiefs, they're not the same as a satin blue or bright blue carbon steel Chiefs Special, especially with a 3" barrel.

Here's "the one": a formerly rusty 3" Baby Chiefs Special, shipped July 17, 1953, to Greenblatt in NYC. Members of the Queens 106 precinct gave it to Lt. Kowsky for Christmas that year. Oh, I bet it knows some secrets.

I have a number of those. I don't know how to narrow it down to one. I wish we could pick 3.

My favorite is the model 14, and while I like the early models those are not my favorites. I like the -5,6,7 with the under lugg . Carried one for several years and shot them in competition for many more just a perfect fit for me.
The 4" version is my favorite.

Back when I shot PPC, my favorite was the M586 I used for Distinguished matches. It had a 6” barrel, a Patridge front sight, and wooden grips. A sweet trigger and amazing accuracy…I loved that old L Frame.

My father passed on a nickel M13-1, 4” barrel, square butt to me. It is totally mint, with a superlative trigger and satisfying accuracy. However…

My favorite is my 442 no-lock. I smoothed out the trigger and got a couple of 5-Star speed loaders and use either Speer 135 grain +p Gold Dot SBs or Underwood 125 grain +p Gold Dots. It’s easy to control, easy to carry, and just enough to break contact if I get in a jam.

A vote for a 57 no dash. Picked one up recently. Don't know why I waited so long.
