FBI wants to check state carry permits

I heard about this check in Missouri this morning, also that the same thing may happen in Delaware. Anyone here know what it is all about?

This explains it better. The FBI's interest is determining that the various sheriff's departments aren't misusing electronic criminal record inquiries. Missouri has a very spirited Senate race this year, and the AG is one of the main candidates. So as not to run afoul of rules regarding political discussion, I'll say no more, except to say it's a lot of form over function.

FBI: Why did you run this fella's criminal history?

Sheriff: Concealed Carry Permit.

FBI: Prove he applied . . .
