Mine was sent back to Smith & Wesson with feed issues. When i got it back it was perfect. Now with about 600 rounds fired I am beginning to some issues again. The gun is clean, using 10 rd shorty mags and CCI mini-Mags at the moment. The round does not completely load into the chamber and bends to about a 30-45 degree angle at the bullet/case mouth leaving the bolt open about 1/2 inch. I can drop the mag and the bullet easily fails out. Anybody seeing the problem or have an idea whats causing it. It's happening once every 2 or three mags.

Are the rounds staggarded in the magazine and seated all the way to the back of the mag?

I have had the problem a few times.
I am finding if i leave the gun dirty it seems to feed well.

One time out I had it cleaned out of 1000 rounds it did it about 10 times
next time out didn't clean it did 1300 rounds, never jammed.

Wife's has been the same. if not better.

I did notice on the Federal Bulk ammo from walmart in the 550 pack. the rounds have a waxy coating on them and that is what I am finding to jam my rounds when loading

.22LR cartridges have lubricated bullets. They also have a fairly wide variance in overall length. Minimags did not feed well in my rifle although this cartridge appears to be one of my normally very reliable Winchester Super-X 36gr HPs. Only one I've had is roughly 2000 rounds and I though enough to photograph it.

I've aggressively polished the chamber of my M&P15-22 with JB Bore Paste on a patch on a drill motor and feeding is very reliable.

BritchieLCK - bullets are staggered and appear to be properly seated. I shot some remington and federal bulk prior to sending back to factory. have shot cci mini mag only since its return except for about 30 rounds of federal bulk the other day. no problems with them but not a lot of rounds tried. will pick up some Super-X and give them a try. Is there any preference for round nose over hp's. Seems like a read somewhere this gun likes the round nose better.

am i reading this right your having this problem every 1000 rds or so... rimfire ammo is very cheaply manufactored.. if your only having this issue every 1000rds its the rds not the rifle... if its every few rds id check that the barrel is tight first then do some polishing to the feed ramp

mine has fed over 20,000 rds of feds.. dont be scared of them..

i am getting what chuck s has in his picture above. one every 20 to 30 rounds. that seems a little to often.

Time for a trip to S&W. I had that one pre-trip as I recall. None since. Send the magazines as well.

Email them for a call tag.
