Fess up, who else keeps a gun in the bathroom.

I've seen a set-up where the person removed the kick-plate panel at the bottom of the sink cabinet and made it so it clipped into place. He kept a stainless revolver laying on the floor behind the panel.

You must have been one of the carpenters that worked on our home remodel in 1996! I modified cabinet kick plates in different rooms in the mid 80's but lost them when new cabinets were installed throughout the house. After the remodel I created new hideout cubbies that were more strategically located and had faster access.

I'm considering a bathroom/target range combo. I figure with the time I spend in there I could practice my sitting position draw. The ventilation should be adequate, with what is has dealt with so far, lead fumes should be no problem. The mirrors should give me a good side view to check my presentation form. Seriously, I have been working on carrying around the house, so the gun should follow me into the bathroom. Like someone said, If I'm in the living room and an intruder gets between me and where ever I store my gun, I'm SOL anyway. So carrying in the bathroom gets my vote.

I missed what you were talking about till you said sitting position.

I figure half the time the bathroom is always available as a shooting range. But I was thinking standing.

But seriously my point was that that was one of the most vulnerable rooms in the house. And it was the harshest(sp) enviornments for long term firearms storage. So I wanted to see how others handled the situation.

Wow, I guess ive never really thought of that, and its kind of embarassing! Nearest gun is quite a ways away, but with the wifey home she has the closest access and would take care of the problem quickly! Some of you guys are SAVAGES, got more guns than a gun store, and im truly jealous!

I hope that no one plans on firing a Magnum in the bathroom. You might go deaf!

PDL, you must have seen the family version of the War Wagon. When I saw it at the theater back in the 60s. Lomax was wearing only a gunbelt.
This thread made me think of the guy in the outhouse in Unforgiven, and Big Jake's shower scene.

Talk about shootin' the poop!

I'll have to show this thread to my wife. She initially thought I was crazy for keeping a gun in the bathroom. At least I'm not the only one.

No. If I am home alone I don't close the bathroom door..so if I heard an intruder trying to get in, I would jump off the bowl and run to the bedroom and grab my gun....when he sees me standing with my pants around my ankles, he will most likely laugh..garnering more sympathy from the jury after I empty my gun.

My Ruger LCP 380 came with this nifty sealed case that makes it perfect for bathroom storage...:D

I carry a 'pocket rocket' beretta .32acp at all times around my home - even when nature calls.
if you want something to happen just drop your skivvies.

The shower scene from Psycho gave me incentive to have a peestool in that room. Think about it, where else in your world are you any more defenseless and vulnerable than the bathroom??? Stainless steel is good, along with a fairly regular spritz of BreakFree!

My bathroom back up.

My Glock 27 converted to .357Sig lives there under my towels. My bathroom is small so by the time they beat the door down I will have the Glock in hand and be standing ready to greet them. The 9 rounds in the mag will allow me to fight my way to an HK P7 with 5 mags in the den. I hope nobody ever breaks in on my wife and I late at night...And it HAS happened 5 times within four blocks in the last year. Imight cover and hold them for PD but if they ever come on on my wife they will have their eyes dotted before they get close.

:D
