I found a super deal on a S&W 908 last year. Bought it because it was cheap $225. Really didn't know much about these compact S&Ws. I have several other Gen 3 guns, but not one like this. Turned out to love the 908 size and concealabilty, not to mention how accurate it is. I just don't like the blocked off slide and it not being stainless. So I had been looking for a 3913 and finally won the bid on Gunbroker at a good price. Absolutely love it.

I love Truglo TFO sights, but they don't make them for either the 908 or the 3913. So cannot decide what kind of night sights to put on the 3913 as I want to make it my EDC. I am cheap though, don't want to spend $100 or more that you typically see on Trijicons for sale. Any inexpensive alternatives out there for the Gen 3 Smiths?

Got a great deal on some mags. Checked the used mag bin at a pawn shop and ended up getting 2 for $15 and 1 for $10 on a later day, so I am hooked up with mags.

I just ordered a 3906 mag from Midway. Does anyone make a grip extension for that magazine on the 3913/908 guns? Could one for another manufacture firearm with a single stack magazine be modified to work?

Thanks,

Rosewood

If you really like the 908 , you'll have to look for a 908S . You don't see them around much , but they are a sweet pistol . I have one , and though it doesn't get shot much , it's one of my favorite compact S&W 9mm's .

I had ran across one of those on gunbroker when I bought the 908 just to compare prices. At the time, I wasn't considering it. I do like the 3913 better though.

I do wish the 3913 did not have an ambidextrous safety. I can take off the lever on the right side, but then the safety still sticks out. I have seen someone cut it flush, but I don't want to make a permanent change I cannot undo. I have considered ordering the safety for a Lady Smith, but seems they are running $40+ or more and I don't want to invest that much more in it. I also read where someone said you have to fit it, may not be drop in.

Anyone have any other suggestions on how to solve my issue or has anyone else done this type of modification?

Thanks,

Rosewood

The single-sided safety body is a good investment when it can be found.

Does it need to be fitted? Or is it just drop-in. I read where someone indicated it took fitting for the timing of the hammer falling. Not sure if I buy that or not.

Guess I could steal the one off my 908, just would be wrong color....

Maybe...

Anytime fire control parts are changed, de-cock timing MUST be checked.

If out of spec, a new sear release lever MUST be fitted.

Not difficult, but it requires manual skills and the effort to learn.

I can handle it. I am currently building a 6" 1911 with a Caspian slide on a Foster frame for my brother. This will be my 3rd build. I was just wondering if it was a drop in or if I would have to earn it. :)

That's not really an issue. Some stainless guns that I own have black safety/decocker levers.

I bought what might have been the last stainless left side safety/decocker from Cylinder and Slide a couple of years ago. That went on my pre rail 3913TSW, but the hammer and trigger are black.

Since then, I've found several on Ebay in black.

My rail 3913TSW came with black hammer, trigger, and ambi safety/decocker.

One of then went on to my CS9S and matches the black trigger and hammer. If get ambitious, I'll fit a black low profile slide lock so that all of the "controls" match.

I see Pachmayr makes them for the Kahr MK9 and PM9. The link you pointed me to has a link to a PM9. Do we know which one is the correct one?

Thanks,

Rosewood

@jsbethel

Can you answer my question? Or are they the same? I know nothing about Kahr models.

Thanks,

Richard

I just ordered a couple 3906 9 round magazines for my 3913ls.

Also a couple spacer sleeves from a guy on eBay to fill the gap between the bottom of the grip and the 9 round base plate.

Midway has the 3906 9 round mags on sale.

The adapters from Joe's Pawn Shop are functional. The squidsix Pachmayr conversion looks better to me.

I got lucky and came across a few single sided safeties a while back and had no trouble finding recipients. I can't speak for others but mine dropped in with no fitting required.
