Earlier this year I bought the wife and myself a pair of Sig 238s. I carry mine everywhere but the wife just was too worried about the workings of the single action little pistol so she never carried it. So this past week I picked her up a 642 and let her shoot it at the range. Other than kicking the snot out of her hand, she liked it. Well today on the way to lunch she exclaimed that she had it in her purse. So finally I have found something she will actually carry. After 36 years I've finally got something right.
BTY, she did say not to get rid of her Sig yet.

Good for you & for her!!

My wife is the same way, once a gun is hers it's hard to get it away from her, no matter if she carries it or not or what I offer her "in trade."

So far a trade deal has only happened once and that was a Model 632-2 (6 shot J Frame / .327 Fed Mag) for her 642 and even then she was reluctant. I think that one extra round sealed the deal......

Good news! I can't tell you how many people I've heard from that get their carry license, start out with a "real" gun and a few weeks or months later are either not carrying or carrying a J frame. :)

My wife only likes revolvers. She also likes the simplicity of a revolver since she can easily see it's status without removing magazines and chamber check. She doesn't carry but she wants only a revolver out of the safe for her when I am away.

I recommend picking up a 640 for range practice and letting her continue to carry the 642.
