Finally! SA-35 UPDATE: Range Report

Awesome Report ....
Now I keep thinking ... I need one !
You need to find some more ammo and accuracy test it from the bench .
I ain't buying no gun that doesn't shoot small-ish groups .
I'm old too (72) so 50 feet or even 25 feet is far enough for old eyey's and iron sights ... the older we get the closer we are allowed to get !
I've always wanted a HI-Power but never had the wherewithall to buy one . My only 9mm Luger is a WWII era Walther P38 and it will put 15 shots into a ragged 2" hole group at 75 feet ... from a rest mind you ...
But if it can't do as well I'll just stick with the Walther .

Last three I've seen locally were all at MSRP, so that's a good sign. I was stunned to see an above poster got one at $619. Wow. One expensive range/store offered a $10 discount to their members...$689, LOL.

Most people shoot low left, squeezing their hand around their palm instead of only the trigger finger. Plus the gun has no checking of any kind and slippery grips, all this contributes too. Try the wrap around hogue rubber w finger grooves and you be center.

I've always wanted a HP but usually find a reason to not buy. Between the Springfield and the Girsan, I'm thinking I may finally jump in.

That said, I've seen a few reports that the Springfield is good up until about the 800 round mark. At that point, problems start appearing like failures to feed and failures to eject. I would hope that this has been cleared up.

Nice pistol! I have one of the of the old FEG clones, I like the HP design

Yeah, I'm a lefty and tend to shoot off to the right with some guns.

I've only shot a HP a few times so I'm not overly familiar with them, but I love the ergonomics of them.

As an admitted know-nothing about HP's, I will have to say I prefer the looks of the checkered grips better.

Last October as I birthday present to myself my shop/range took a deposit for one. A month later it came in, I got the first one they received at 5% under msrp.

Love the improvements SA made, never any issues with any type of ammo I used. The trigger was a bit on the heavy side but for my pudgy little hand the back of the frame dug in. I would've preferred a mild beaver tail but nothing to the extreme that Nighthawk and Novak do.

I sold it, talked to the buyer yesterday and he's just thrilled with it. The shop had 5 arrive last week, all at $689 and they were gone by Friday.

This is the one I had with the first rounds through it, I believe at 10 yards if I remember correctly (that's typically where I start with a new to me gun with the target turning to me for 3 seconds then repeating)
