i finaly got it , my s&w model 14 .
these are not so easy to find here in holland , few are advertised
i imported this one from belgium , its a 14-4.
the condition is very good , it seems to have no or little rounds through it , i fired it some 100 times now and its getting bettter and better i believe.
when i got it it was in need of a good cleaning , there was a kind of grey grease around that was very hard to remove .
you still can see some dull spots in the fotoos , its a grease
residu .
the shop had it in stock at least 16 years , the guy couldnt look futher back in the system but thinks it was around way much longer.
for me its one down , one to go cause now im looking around for a model 17.
im shooting it with a casted wadcutter 148 gr and 3.1 gr of bullseye powder.:D

Welcome to the forum! Great looking gun you have and one of the best 38 Special target revolvers ever made. Keep searching for that 17, they too are wonderful guns. The load you are using is a classic target load although some people seem to prefer 2.7 or 2.8 grains of Bullseye. Try a few different loads and see which the gun shoots best with.

next time i reload i will back of a little on the powder , maby 3 or 2.9 gr or so.
3.1 gr was the minimum charge according to my lyman reloading handbook , so i dont want to go to low.
ive been using this load in my combat magnum , with good results .
about the mod 17 , there is one in the shop where i bought this mod 14 . its been lying around for decades , and probably is never been fired... same as the 14 .
i think im gonna fetch me that one too in the near future.
maby gonna sell my 686-3 for this one , but i know im gonna miss it terrible , so im a little carefull.
