First post so here I go. I am x military and my wife has started to take an interest in shooting. While looking for her first handgun I came acrost a 39-2 in nickel. No box just a weaver holster. The price was 350.00 so I bought it. No going back now just wondering if I did poor or ok. On the price.

Exarmy....Welcome to the Forum. You will always be respected and shown much grace here. If not, it will be addressed. There is no better place to get up to speed on S&W Pistols and revolvers than here. Wisdom and kindness mark the place. Good folks here...never be embarrassed or afraid to learn. Zebulon

First thanks for your service. Second, welcome to the forum, there are a bunch of great folks and a ton of knowledge at your disposal here. Great firearm at a great price, you've done well.

Last, but certainly not least, thank your Wife for her support. All to often we forget the families that support our soldiers and the sacrifices they make every day. Without them, there would be no US.

Good shooting to you both.

Welcome! I bought a shooter grade 39-2 a few months back. Its blued and is about 70%. Its a great shooting 9mm, hope you and your wife enjoy yours!

Exarmy... welcome to the forum and I'd like to echo what everyone else has said about this forum and appreciation for your service.

You did fine on the 39-2, especially since the nickeled version seems to be less common, or at least that's the way it has been in my part of the woods. Interest in the M39-2 has grown recently to where it's being increasingly sought after and ones that show up in the local gun stores here don't last too long. I think the M39's are the best feeling pistols in ones hand that were ever made.

I bought my blued 39-2 locally from a private party for $450 and as was happy as a clam to pay that after a few years of unsucessfully finding one... but it's probably way different for people away from California and it's screwed up handgun laws and limitations in their ability of running across them too.

I'm green with envy on two fronts, a nickle M39-2 and a wife that's interested in shooting/firearms...

Welcome to the forum! :)

Congrats on the nickel 39-2! I'd like to find one some day. Regards 18DAI

My wife (Luscious) and I spend much time shooting together. Nothing could be finer.

Welcome and congrats.

Welcome, your lucky to have wife that will even hold gun, mine doesn't want to even know it's the house, no less loaded.

Thank you for your Service.

Welcome to the Forum, Exarmy! It's great to have you. Oh, don't worry about being accepted here. Heck, as a veteran of the U.S. Army, you're "in like Flint." Geez . . . I mean . . . we even let former Navy guys onboard. ;)

Oh, a word of warning though . . . count your fingers and check your wallet if you find yourself in a thread with any former ASA (Army Security Agency) guys. ;)
