I shot my first IPSC/USPSA match since the mid '90's last night. It was my youngest daughters (18 years old) first match ever. It was at a local club. I forgot how much fun it is. I did well so I am pleased. I beat the darling husband, which never happened before. Anyway, there is a ladies night this Friday. The daughters want to make it a daughter/Mommy date night. The husband said that if he does not criticize, can he come along and watch? I thought that was cute.

I was shooting IPSC back around 1977. Casting my own bullets and reloading on a Single Stage. Where was the Dillon 550B, and Missouri Bullets when you really needed them??
About a year and a half was all I could enjoy of that.
If I remember correctly I think my new Colt Series 70 MK IV was $200, and Bill Wilson Tuning on it was another $200 or so. This was about the time frame when Wilson Combat was still the empty building beside his dads Jewelry Store. I think the only thing in the building was a Star Reloader on a table.
I am shooting Defensive Pistol, Reactive Steel Challenge and ICORE now days. AND having a very good time at it.

The family is now shooting in USPSA matches at least once a week. On the last Friday night of the month they have a ladies night. The girls and I had fun shooting against each other on Ladies night. The youngest is still learning, but is doing well. We have a new holster, belt, etc on order for her. She is especially enjoying competing. I am sure the boyfriend also competing has nothing to do with her enjoyment. lol

We have a young lady who shoots IDPA in my area twice a month and is a stalwart competitor. This is her 2nd year and she is 15.

Very competitive shooter and on many stages outshoots the men. I love seeing young women getting into the sport. It builds confidence and character.

I see that you are in Missouri.
You might want to come down and play with us some time. Your name is familiar, we may even know each other all ready. I am the Club President at The Big Piney Sportsman's Club near Houston.
We just had a Reactive Steel match last weekend. We had 6 lady shooters. Next month we will have Defensive Pistol which is along the line of Club IDPA. We shoot ICORE Revolver on the Sunday following the Defensive Pistol OR Reactive Steel Match.
We are getting ready to add a few more Modular Tubing Walls, and some Modular Door Openings to go with the 4 Modular Doors we already have. We are also going to expand the White Gravel Pad that we construct the Shoot House on.

I live in Lee's Summit. Based on the phone number of the membership person, we do not live near each other. It does sound cool. I will keep you in mind if we ever get to your neck of the woods.
