First range trip with new FS M&P 9mm

Range trip 7-5-2015

50 rounds of REM-UMC 115 gr. FMJ through the M&P 9mm today. No issues and probably the best I've shot it since I got it. I don't normally shoot with gloves (except outdoors/cold weather), but today I thought "why not"? Really enjoyed the day, shot well and finally met another shooter at the indoor range that could actually hit a target!

Total round count 1,151

Range trip 7-30-2015

A quick trip to the outdoor range. Another 30 rounds REM-UMC 115 gr. FMJ through the freshly cleaned M&P 9. Let another shooter try it as well. Total round count 1,181.

Range trip 2-20-2016

Over 6 months since I've shot my M&P 9? WOW!

50 rounds Federal Champion Aluminum Case 115 gr. FMJ today with no issues. Up to 70 degrees today in East-Central Indiana and I had the range to myself for 3 hours! A beautiful, sunny day to be at the range :-)

Total round count 1,231

I hope you people take time to VOTE. I like to do the same things you folks are doing if we get another one from the left in the white house we might be done this time . Just hope no one comply s

I can second that thought. Trying to keep as busy as able on summer weekends (since i know nasty old man winter is coming soon enough) I didn't even realize it was 2 months since my last range stop. I much prefer going every 3-4 weeks or so when I can.

And I could tell on the first mag it was awhile since I last shot, lol

Like the updates!

I have a small collection of Smith's, 5" M2.0, 4.25" M2.0, M2.0 Compact, 2 1.0 9c's, and a Shield, all 9mm, various round counts up to 2000ish on one of the 9c's, and I haven't had a single malfunction that wasn't ammo related (had a couple short charges with some factory reloads) No issues with magazines either.

Needless to say, I'm a S&W fan for life...now I'm thinking I want to dip my toes in the 1st-3rd gen pool...

Full Size (as opposed to Compact or Shield)

I laughed when someone else asked for the clarification.

There are much older, long standing acronyms in shooting that seem to get appropriated for other, newer purposes.

"FS" is one of those.

"FS"= full stock.

"Full size" = full size.

Range trip 11-9-2017

60 rounds of 124 gr. Xtreme plated FP bullets, 3.8 grs. TiteGroup, CCI 500 primers and Blazer cases. Very nice load and accurate. One of the last decent days I'll have for the outdoor range.

Round Count now 1,426

wow you have great self control
I bought a brand new "ordered" Performance Center M&P 9L ported barrel
red Dot ....the whole shebang and I hit 1000 round in 5 weeks LOL!
American Eagle 147gr and S&B 124gr ar the 2 best out of mine.
Zero issues with it (I'm up to almost 2500 rounds through it by now LOL!)
good to hear yours is running well, I may be looking at a 5" 2.0 to run in production
when I don't feel like using the optic.
I want to stay with the same platform so I can just switch back and forth between the 2
The option of just buying a 5" no ported slide assembly would be the ideal,
so I could stay with the same frame/trigger 100% of the time, but unfortunately
S&W is not offering that at this present time
