Well, winter is coming to Montana, woke up to white on the ground and more falling. Be plenty of nice warm days ahead before it is here to stay. Just a reminder that I live in Montana and it snows when it wants too. We get an average of 65" here. I don't know that it has ever snowed in July or August, it did snow 4" in June once and we average 4" in May and Oct and the record was 24" in one late March day.

You warm weather people take heed. If you were a S&W this place would freeze you serial number location off.:D

Could you post a pic? Pictures would make me feel cooler:)

It wouldn't hurt to start it, either. Nothing like waiting until the first decent snow fall to find out that the blower won't start.

I'll run my snowblower at least once a month...even in the summer.I like to start the mower and then run the snowblower for 10-15 minutes while I'm mowing the lawn.Had a couple of neighbors complain about the noise my lawnmower was making.

All I ever ask for, for Christmas is a light dusting on Christmas Eve and Christmas morning. It's becoming more rare here. But it just sets the mood for a Beautiful Christmas.

Otherwise I don't want to see it. But Usally mid to late February is when ice and snow rocks our world. but Nashville shuts down with an inch of snow. And it's a good thing, Nashville drivers suck if it just rains!!

Heck it was 89 degrees here yesterday and the same expected today. Our Usual high should be 78 this time of year.

Came home from Missoula Monday afternoon over Lost Trail Pass into Idaho. 3" of snow on the Montana side.
We have a good dusting on the peaks of the Continental Divide behind the home.

I visited Glacier and Yellowstone parks in 2015 and both had suffered from lack of snow. Maybe 2016-17 winter will be better.

Got over an inch at our house on Sunday night in the North Valleys of Reno. We live at about 5100'

All my hose bibs were frozen shut, had to drain the irrigation that night because we've had freezes every night since.

We enjoyed .55" of rain followed by 2" of horizontal snow in that same storm, steelslaver. A bit heavy on the rain and light on the snow for us right about now. Sure sent the elk hunters pouring out of their high-country camps on Saturday. I think they're all back up there now. Pretty, sunny, and 38 today.

I was in Rock Springs some years ago during a "white-out" and was lead to believe all snow in Wyoming was horizontal.

Well down at Rock Springs the snow usually IS horizontal. I was driving home from back in Delaware to Wyoming.. Stopped in Sidney Nebraska..Left Sidney in the morning heading toward Cheyenne. 65 degrees..Got to Cheyenne it was snowing horizontally with 3 inches on the ground...Almost white out. The last of the trip usually takes about 6 hours to home.. but that day it took 13. Horizontal snow all the way. Next day it was 12 below at home.. BIG change
